I used to go here and will be back 2018. I loved my experience here. The people were nice, it was a very respectful, independent environment. The location was beautiful in my opinion and the staff were happy to help. Good vibe!

The instructors here give you the time to help you out and make sure that you're getting value out of your education. I am just about to start my third year in an Electrical Engineering Course and I have no complaints about this University, which I managed to get into after getting a near average ATAR.

Approximate cost: $4000

Have been happy with my education from here. They are helpful and a lot cheaper than the big 4 universities in Melbourne (Melbourne University, Monash, Deakin and La Trobe)

Don't overlook this university if you are looking at doing further study. I was very impressed by them being a student for 2.5 years. Cheaper than Monash, Melbourne and Deakin and smaller too!

Coming here for a university open day as I want to reenter studying, I wasn't that impressed by the facilities and the courses they were offering for my field. Not the best university but it's easily accessible.

I currently study at Victoria University in Footscray. I really enjoy my course and despite it being a long way from home I do find myself going and being motivated (as motivated as I can be for a uni student). I find the library very helpful, usually lots of staff around and IT help if you need it.
The book shop is good too now it has changed hands (Co-op now).
The parking situation is a bit shit, but from what I've heard nowhere near as shit as other unis!
Overall it is not a bad uni and cops a pretty bad rap!

I currently study at Victoria University's Footscray Park campus for numerous reasons.

The university is in a convenient location, not too far from the CBD. It is easily accessible by train, tram, or bus. There is also a large car park available for students who drive, and a free shuttle bus service offered during semesters and exam periods after dark.

I find that the university make things easy. Most staff have no problems in helping you to make uni life easy - I have found it extremely easy and stress free to change units, apply for programs such as social clubs or exchange programs, or simply communicate with staff. Help teams are available for international students, IT issues, and unit tutoring amongst other things.

The deciding factor in me attending VU was the desire to study a specific course which I could not find at any other university in Victoria. Their bachelor of business offers the opportunity to specialise in music industry based business, a course which actually has a good reputation, and provides overseas travel opportunities to study business at music colleges around the world.

While they do not offer a great range of courses at this campus, it is exactly what I was looking for in a university and I would recommend it to others with similar interests or needs for future study.

Unfortunately i think that this university does not really compare with others out there.
When you think of uni most people probably think of a place that is very sociable.
Other universities that i have seen regularly have many different clubs and events for students to participate in. Victoria Uni provides a very limited amount.

The uni is quite unorganized in their course structure, something i have heard now from far too many students who have attended their as well as myself.

The parking is also almost a no go zone, if you're not there early, you can expect to find it quite hard to find a park space, even though the area is actually really big.

I love this place and have enjoyed every moment of my study there. I agree with the universities values and have a great deal of respect for the academic staff. The university makes an effort to provide opportunities for people in the Western Suburbs to further their careers and improve their lives through study.

The university have said yes to every reasonable request I've made thus far. When I have said I wished to change courses, continue my study, enrol in the post graduate program etcetera, I have been made very welcome and been told its just a matter of filling in the paperwork.

Whereas most universities make students sit scholarship exams and compete for exchange programs, I have been offered both, upfront, by VU, and have benefited immensely from them.

Your review reflects my experience at the university, too. Great description of your time studying at VU!

I was also very happy with Victoria Uni whilst I was there for 2.5 years. I think it gets a bad rep.
