My bathroom looks brilliant. Quality of workmanship and attention to detail could not be faulted. Guys on the job were considerate and reliable. They made the whole process easy to deal with. Excellent clean up at end of job.

Did a quote for insurance from a photo, did not come out to measure. Did not include everything in the quote. They had to come back to fix up a few things. Still not entirely happy with the job. Office person not very easy to deal with.

I was quoted by 3 bathroom companies and had a specific window of time that the work needed to be completed. VBC was the only company who could complete the work by my deadline so I paid the $1700 deposit.

My first shock was to be informed that even though the tile I had chosen was the correct size as per the quote, it was going to cost me an additional $2000 as it had a simple geometric pattern on it (my bathroom is just standard size btw)

I did not have that in my budget so had to go with plain tiles that I didn't really like....but I swallowed that and got on with it.

Next I found out that not only did the quote not include tiles and fittings (fair enough) but it also did not include a mould that forms the base of the shower that the tiles apparently attach to. I found this to be odd as I didn't even know that such a thing was needed (not being a builder) so I didn't look for it to be paid for in the quote. I felt a bit deceived but figured...really, how much could a plastic mould cost? I'll tell you....Over $1000!!
This time I couldn't go without it so I was going to have to add that to the spend.
The next thing that happened was that days before work was due to start Michelle called to say someone was sick so they would have to delay my job by 3 days. This meant that my forthcoming AirBnB guests would not be able to use the bathroom for the first days of their stay so I graciously accepted their apology and said I would have to play it by ear now as I was heading into the peak AirBnB season in Melbourne.

I was encouraged to book a date even if I had to cancel it just because they book up so quickly so I randomly picked a date.
Weeks before that date it was apparent that it was not going to work so I shifted to another date in the Winter - several months away.

Then I got a booking for the Winter and cancelled with over 2 months notice.

I tried and tried to find a suitable date and then had a financial disaster which meant I was unable to proceed.

I called to explain and was only offered around $600 as a refund. It was claimed that the $1100 was for administration!
Their tone was suddenly very rude and defensive and they took no responsibility for cancelling the job in the first place. I was told that "these things often happen in this business"

So it cost me $1100 for a few phone calls with them (I was told that the quote was free). I wouldn't mind if they had just been less money grabbing and rude about everything but live and learn. My gut says that their workmanship might be good but their customer service and honesty is not. BE WARNED FELLOW BATHROOM RENOVATORS!!

The Victorian Bathroom Company made the whole experience of our bathroom renovation easy and hassle free, from original quote to the final completion, when everything was left immaculately for our use. We can't stop admiring the new look bathroom, they definitely exceeded our expectations. They completed the work within the Timeframe they quoted -a miracle we weren't expecting, but appreciated greatly. I can't recommend them too highly, exactly what you need when looking to renovate, on budget, on time and great finishes.
