what other's said was true, there is an expire date written on the gift card. normally I would feel ok because after all it was me to forgot the date. but the date is very small and on the corner, really unnoticeable, really make me to think they want to hide it.

Village Cinemas is one of those businesses that issue Gift Cards with an expiry date. They say gift cards are like cash, so if you lose them or they get stolen, they are gone. But there is a difference. Cash doesn't expire and Village Gift Cards do. Contacted their customer service and they would not extend the expiry - some companies do. Around 35% of Gift Cards are never redeemed so it's obvious why companies that issue them with expiry dates love them but for consumers, they are like losing cash. Gift cards with expiry dates should be outlawed. Any gifts from now on will never be gift cards!

Approximate cost: $40
