The instructors are great at VT1 Mixed Martian Arts Academy. Great way to meet new people, a new skill and get fit.

The instructors, environment and other students make this place more than worth it. The most enjoyable way to get in shape and meet new people. Definitely recommend this to people thinking about getting into martial arts!

When I first came I was welcomed by a bunch of very friendly people that are eager to learn and have fun whilst doing so. All the instructors have a wealth of knowledge. Best place to train at by far.

I went to VT1 MMA academy in 2010, I was happy with it then, but found it a bit of a trek to get there from Pennent hills. I cancelled my membership and trained closer to home at Bulldog.

I now Live at mona vale and have trained at a few facilites down there,venom, Bjj and a few other small gyms. Whilst suitable I have amde a descision to go back to VT1. most places are closer for and and some are cheaper, but am yet to get the attention, service and great knowledge of various arts like VT1 has. definently worth the travel.

VT1 MMA Academy is a great place that welcomes people from ALL backgrounds. As a female, finding a gym that looks after its female members and recognises the differences in training requirements is rare. All of the coaches are talented and approachable. As such, I've received fantastic advice and felt safe and comfortable ever since I started. The premises are well maintained and extremely clean. I have no hesitation recommending VT1 MMA Academy to anyone!

Vt-1 Mixed Martial Arts Academy is great. It offers a wide variety of classes that cater for a range of abilities - childrens and teens included. The coaches are the highlight of this gym, all very good at what they do. The gym itself is very clean and well looked after.

I have been at VT1 MMA academy for over 3 years now and compete in Muay Thai competitions. The academy is great for people who are looking to compete, lose weight or just learn some new skills. I have also made a lot of great mates along the way as the atmosphere is always so friendly and inviting.

I am always recommending people to come down and try it.

Have been training under the Resnekov brothers of VT1 since 2007, when they were just a small club.
Even though the business has grown immensely, the atmosphere of warmth and friendliness remains the same. Furthermore, the standard of coaches and trainers is phenomenal, and the facilities are some of the best you will find in Australia.

i've been to many martial arts gyms around sydney and VT-1 is the cleanest, friendliest and has the best quality coaches and great martial arts programs that allows people to learn at their own pace and with people at their own level.
the main aspect that makes VT-1 stand out is it's friendly environment, most other martial arts gyms are intimidating but in VT-1 it's different. i can bring my children here and get them in doing some martial arts as well

When I joined VT1, I wanted to learn BJJ. I've since added wrestling, boxing and MMA to my skillset. The gym provides it all in one convenient place. But the best things about my time at VT1 are the new friends I've made and the way it has grown me as an individual (and I'm in my 40's!). They've brought in BJJ world champions and top UFC fighters. For an MMA fan, it's like living the dream. I highly recommend this gym.

I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over a decade and have been a member of this academy for over three years now.
The quality of tuition and the support, especially for beginners is excellent. The atmosphere is very friendly and there are a lot of social activities as well, this isn't "just" a gym. Dylan and Liam really put their heart and soul into running this place and the huge number of members is testament to that.
There are also a lot of other class options (MMA, personal fitness, Muay Thai, Boxing, Krav Maga, Wrestling) so whether you are a professional fighter or grappler, or just looking to improve your fitness, there should be something for you.

This is an amazingly positive martial arts academy (Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA) , with teachers who genuinely care about their students. I had trained with Dylan (Muay Thai) who really was an embodiment for everything positive about martial arts. Respectful and encouraging, his passion and commitment really rubs off onto the students. In my experience there are no egos (which you find at a lot of boxing/MMA gyms), and everyone really wants the best for each other, from the beginners to the experienced professional fighters. I can't recommend VT1 highly enough for anyone who is looking to get into martial arts or fitness.

I requested personal training. I went in, filled out a form, spoke to the manager and organised my first training date. Over the course of three weeks, I had four cancellations. I would receive an SMS between the times of 6PM the night before to 1AM on the morning of my first training day with excuses like leaving the club keys with the cleaners; trying to get my son in a sleep pattern; Im at a fight and I am just leaving Wollongong now; and my newborn has an infection so I have to stay home with my daughter.

When I was asked if I wanted to book for the fifth time for which would still be my first lesson, I replied saying no, I wanted someone reliable and who actually wanted to train me. I then received a nasty and sarcastic reply.

I do NOT reccommend anyone to try this club based on my experiences alone. I have no idea why I was treated this way. I really believe this staff member (who is also the club manager) had absolutely no intentions of training me and this was his way of pushing me away. I am left feeling like I have been discriminated against.

An incredibly disapointing experience, I was looking forward to learning a new skill and self-defence.
