I know this is a historical building, but it's a little ugly inside. I'm not sure if it's the grey I don't like or if it's just because on the night we were there, it was absolutely freezing outside, & not many people inside, so it seemed just as cold.

I have to say that I did enjoy (most of) the meal, but was more impressed with the service, which is what you should get when you patronize this type of restaurant. The waiting staff were fantastic, attentive, but more importantly for me, they engaged us in conversation. Impressive wine list too. the pork belly starter was my favourite & our dessert was something with pineapple & coconut which was really refreshing after a hearty meaty dinner.

The only criticism that I have, is that the steak was over cooked & in a place of that calibre, it should have been PERFECT.

It was an otherwise pleasant evening & it's just one of those places you have to go to once in your lifetime.

Approximate cost: $75

One of those restaurants where a lot of importance is placed on the presentation of the meal. This does mean you get small servings and it is quite expensive, but the food is really good. A greatt place for a special occasion.
