I have been to the kingsville surgery many times in the past four years and I am lucky enough to have Dr.Kay Whitfield as my doctor.i cannot speak highly enough of her care and attention whenever I see her,she always goes beyond the call of duty and is a wonderful listener as well as an amazing doctor, you couldn't ask for any more of your doctor.
Also,my sister has been her patient too,and unfortunately, she has had terminal cancer for the last 4 years, and Kay's care of her,and to all her family at this very, very hard time, has been superb and has been so very much appreciated by us all.

I had never thought of leaving a review about any business in my life but this medical Center deserves a one big hug and a fantastic review . I really want to thank dr Dinesh for making me an entirely different person to what I was, for listening to me patiently and finally finding a solution to my problem . Highly recommended Dr Dinesh Krish

My family and I are patients at the South Kingsville clinic.

They have always been helpful when making bookings. They are very sympathetic to sick kids and will try to give you options even when fully booked. IF you have a favourite doctor it may take days and even weeks to book but if you don't mind the doctor but just need medical advice then you will always get someone within in 2 days in my experience.

Have tried the dentist as well and they have been good with my two fillings and cleaning.

If any criticism, the pathology service struggle to get my blood on the first or second go.

Otherwise they have been a great medical centre to go to. They have other services like podiatry, psychologists, etc. but have never tried.

I am primarily a patient of the Newport Clinic of this Health service, and have been for many years. They have grown from being a small Doctor's surgery in Home Road, Newport with a cramped and dingy waiting room, to a refurbished building which has an open, light and spacious entrance and waiting area.

The Newport Clinic is at 2 Home Road, Newport - 9391 2222 - so easy to remember.

The reception staff are always friendly and helpful. My husband sees Dr O'Shea who is an exemplary physician, and I usually see Dr Sloman (we make jokes about his name). But really, any of the doctors here are people you could trust.

I also have attended the Sth Kingsville premises when an appointment was not available at Newport, since they have Saturday morning times. And besides one terrible day where I waited for about 3 hours to see a doctor, I have always found the service here to be of good standard.

There are dental facilities here as well.

Recently I had the most awful case of flu which was then diagnosed as pneumonia - all care was taken and they were quite willing to assist me to go to hospital straight away instead of mucking around. I felt like they really cared.

Newport has blood test facilities and there are other facilities I've never used, such as physiotherapy and acupuncture. The consulting rooms are large and pleasant - not brand spanking new as this is an old house conversion, but I like that a lot. It has a more comforting feel.

The bulk billing is wonderful - the last thing you want to worry about when you're not well is finding the money to pay the doctor. We have a family membership and it's been great.

I would recommend anyone to this service, and to the Newport Clinic in particular.

Approximate cost: $Non members pay normal consultation fees.

This is a Co-op style doctor's surgery, also including their other medical centre at 2 Home Rd, Newport (9391 2222). I used to be a member, as it is good value - but the catch is that I could rarely get an appointment when I - or my family - were actually sick! You seem to have to book in days in advance to see a Dr. The co-op membership was supposed to give patients (& members) access to both clinics (Vernon St, Sth Kingsville & Home Rd, Newport), but I found when ringing between the two surgeries desperate for an appointment one day when I was quite ill, if I hadn't been to the Home Rd surgery previously, they wouldn't accept me, saying I was considered a 'new patient'. This is despite the fact that by being a paying annual member of this co-op I was entitled to go to either clinic. Not good enough service for health practitioners & way too 'exclusive'. It's a great pity though as the concept of the co-op service & annual membership (which means you don't pay up front for the year - even without a health care card), is a really good & sound one in principle.

Any member of the public can access the co-op's clinics and services at either of the two clinics. Members are bulk billed for GP services and can make an appointment at either clinic and doctors at either clinic can access a patient's medical record.
