This is a great little cafe that is great to visit for breakfast or lunch. The food is fresh and the coffee is excellent. It has a great atmosphere that will make you want to keep coming back.

Wonderful Brunswick cafe with excellent coffee - several options that they know what they are doing with. Lovely staff and great atmosphere. One of the cafes when people think of Brunswick cafes in a positive way.

The coffee is to die for. The brew (and there are a few to choose from) is full flavoured, complex yet mellow, sweet and clean. Depending on your preference, they can serve it hot or cold in a few different ways.
On the day I went, it was really hot and so they were able to turn my coffee into a very sophisticated cold brew served with some evaporated milk. Perfect for the occasion.
The menu is filled with lots of great options (the usual breakfast suspects + nice filled rolls & salads etc for lunch) and if that were not enough choice there is a specials menu. We wanted to order almost everything on the menu but eventually settled on the
Slow roasted pork belly with cucumber, tomato, blood orange salad & mirin-sesame dressing
Smoked Trout, Asparagus & Snow Pea Salad with hazelnuts, moghrabieh, figs, fetta & tahini
Fried Cauliflower Sandwich with Carrot Jam, Walnuts, Labne, Chard & Herbs on Pumpkin Bread
As you can see, lots of choice for all tastes and dietary requirements. And it all looked and tasted great!

Wide Open Road is located in hipster central but it has a lot of things to love about it, it's big and spacious, with good coffee and cheap food. The menu isn't extensive but they do basics well - I got the smushed peas with pecorino and lemon. I got a mountain of peas on the tastiest bread I've had in a while and it was complemented perfectly by the lemon and chunks of goat's cheese. Delicious. Service was pretty good too, not super attentive but they were lovely. More than happy to split the bill too which is always a bonus.

I live in the building behind this cafe, and it's a regular hang out with friends for breakkie or brunch! Great vibe, fresh tasty food, and best coffee. I would recommend the poached eggs, with gucamole and chorizo yummy!!! Don't miss this one.

Approximate cost: $15.00
