After sampling some Wild Brumby schnapps and gin at the Lake Crackenback resort, we dropped in for lunch (and to buy more schnapps and gin) last week.

The cafe serves a range of German dishes. Our lunches were delicious, generously proportioned and reasonably priced.

After lunch we sampled some of Wild Brumby's produce. They craft a variety of schnapps, and three different types of gin. I would highly recommend a visit the next time you are in the area, but you will definitely need to book as the café is very popular.

Wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery and Café truly is a gem in the Snowy Mountains. I came here for the first time over the weekend when the weather was horrible, cold and wet. My friend, hubby, 6month old baby and I dined here and sat outside in it! We didn't let the weather spoil our experience though. The food is German themed and quite delicious. I had the spinach and ricotta dumplings which was different. Afterwards we did some schnapps tasting and shopping inside. Highly recommended, this place was awesome!

Came here on a bad snow day hoping to have some lunch and some nice schnapps. Unfortunately, everyone else on the slopes thought the same thing so we didn't get to eat here but it looks fabulous. The schnapps are delicious and I have a bottle of peach schnapps at home which I thoroughly look forward to on the weekend :)

One of the best places to eat and visit in the snowy mountains. I took my mum and sister here on the weekend, and it was packed. We had to come back a few hours later for a table, but the food was awesome and really well priced, and they make this raspberry soda drink using real raspberries grown on the property which tasted amazing. The beef goulash was fantastic, and the free schnapps tasting was awesome.

Located in one of the most picturesque valleys of the picturesque snowy mountains, The Wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery may just give the ski resorts a run for top tourist attraction.

Serving the best value food in the area, the restaurant offers hearty Austrian-inspired fare and delicious soups served with generous thick-cut slices of sourdough bread.

Of course, a visit to the distillery wouldn't be complete without a free schnapps tasting, and a few bottles of the tastiest schnapps you'll ever have the pleasure of imbibing! After eating, wander the pretty grounds and look at the sculptures scattered throughout the property!

We were here a couple of weeks ago and had to wait an hour for a table, but it was well worth it. We started out meal off with a free schnapps tasting, shared a bowl of wedges, and ate generous bowls of delicious, hearty soup for only $10 each. I can't wait to go back.

Perfect place to end a day skiing.

This restaurant is very funky in my opinion. It has the outdoor sitting that can mimic the European atmosphere with all their outside decor and thick wooden table and chairs. They also have a combination of pub and restaurant area which is really nice. BUT the highlight is the distillery area and how the place sells schnapps. They have so many yummy flavours to choose from and the best part is, you can taste them before you buy them. For those chilly fans, there is a really spicy flavour (I forgot the name), but the all time favourite is butter scotch.
