I am almost 70 years old and have been a patient of Graeme Wood for 40+ years and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Graeme is such a [redacted due to clinical content], dedicated professional.
I started as Graeme’s patient the year he would have graduated from Optometry College and will not change.
Over those 40+ years I have taken my family, in-laws, cousins and grandchildren to Graeme. My mother-in-law travelled from East Gippsland to see him. One day my youngest daughter complained of a sore eye, after a visit to a GP who gave us drops for her. The eye worsened so I rang Graeme who told us to take her straight over to him. He checked her eye and referred her immediately to an Ophthalmologist who was able to treat her eye and fixed it. Had we continued to use the eye drops the GP gave her she could have lost the sight in that eye.

Graeme should be very proud of himself and his staff, who are just beautiful. They have always been treated me (us) with the utmost respect. I just love them all. I don't know what I would do without them. I have been a wearer of glasses since I was five years old. I wouldn't go to anyone else but Graeme. Thank you Graeme for all your wonderful care.

You could not be in better hands, thorough, accurate, terrific value. Graeme picks up on things that other optometrists have missed. I have tried various optometrist over the years but i end up back at Rose St Essendon. I went there in my teens when i was at school in the local area. It has been a hike for the past 20 years to go all the way to Essendon from South yarra but i have tried them all specsavers, opsm, other local guys... graeme know his stuff better than anyone else i have encountered and the equipment he uses is hi-tech, that i have seen no where else. My glasses and contacts from Graeme are always spot on. Seriously could not recommend him highly enough most especially if you have an issue that is out of the ordinary.

Graeme Wood has been my optometrist since 1983. (No, that's not a typo.) I think I was one of his very first customers. What can I say? A health care professional has to be pretty good for a client to stick with them for that long, especially when they're faced with competition from budget places such as SpecSavers and the like.

Sure, I could probably get cheaper glasses and contact lenses elsewhere. But I'm not particularly interested in shopping around. I get top quality, highly professional service here, from someone who has known me forever, always greets me warmly, and is never too busy to chat.

His receptionists are very good at spacing Graeme's appointments so that they start and finish fairly punctually. In almost 30 years of attending this practice, I've never had to wait for more than about 10 minutes past my appointment time. Sometimes I've been too early, and he's invited me in anyway. Can't say that about any of my other health care professionals.

In recent years I've begun to appreciate the fact that Graeme has undertaken much more postgraduate study than the average optometrist, and is qualified to diagnose more serious eye diseases. When I developed diabetes, I thought I'd have to start visiting an ophthalmologist for regular checks of my retinas. Not so. Graeme assured me that he is fully qualified to diagnose diabetic retinopathy (a common complication of diabetes). "So all those certificates on your wall are good for something after all!" I joked to him. More seriously, I'm delighted to still have this continuity of care after so long.

Initially when i went for my eye test, Robert was great, very thorough. I bought my contact lenses, but couldnt afford my glasses. I went in a couple of months after to pick up a copy of my prescription and the lady was so rude, i think probably because she knew i was going else. Not professional
