I selected this restaurant for my 21st birthday and completely regret it. My order was taken incorrectly and when they brought out the wrong meal the waitress tried to tell me it was the correct one. After everyone else had been served, I was told my meal was "on the way". By the time most of my family had finished their meals, we went up to track the progress of mine and the message had not been passed on from the waitress. I decided eating alone would be embarrassing and asked for a refund, which we received. The staff were apologetic, however the experience was already ruined.

They provide quite good steak, well I did anyway. However the wait is actually quite long but it's a great place for children as well as adults as there is a playground outside for the kids. It is quite pricey as well.

Best place in Brisbane to have a proper meal and actually get to talk to your friends, as the kids can entertain themselves in the playground and the indoor entertainment area

Approximate cost: $28

One of the worse expenses I have had. It started off fine with being seated on the deck. People smoking walk past and cars drive past nonstop though. The wind of blowing and it was freezing. The steak was expensive and was over cooked, clearly not a medium, it was so tough. The salad was limp. One of the main meals was delivered to the wrong table and after they had poked at it and told the staff they simply took the plate off the table and went to give it to us!!!! We went to this place a year ago and they failed to impress and this time they just failed again.

Approximate cost: $30.00

Not the best experience I've had at a hotel. The food was a little overcooked, and considering it was a quiet weeknight, I was surprised at how long the food took to arrive. But the staff were friendly, and gave great table service

Went here a couple weeks ago - The prices are quite high considering the quality of the food. Even the specials dont seem extremely great. Perhaps when pubs inner city are offering $10 steaks etc which are quite good, it is difficult to pay around $20 for a very average meal

Approximate cost: $20

My husband and I have dined at Woodfires once. It seems very popular as a family restaurant. It was very noisy, and we ended up with the worst table in the place as we didn't have a booking. Because of the name, we were expecting some great woodfired pizzas, but the selection of pizzas was quite small and not particularly exciting. The food was okay, but overall our experience was pretty ordinary and we haven't been back since. For a great range of (cheap) pizzas, try the Pizza Caffe at the University of Queensland. They have a pizza for every letter of the alphabet, and the toppings are unusual and very tasty.

Great place to take a large group for an informal or formal celebration. Great variety and quality of food. Good service and very pleasant atmosphere. Lives up to its reputation as "Best steaks in the West" and the woodfire pizzas are fabulous! Check out the scrumptious dessert menu too.
