I disagree with the author on the staff. There are some check-out females, (in all stores) who have a mentally deficient view of older shoppers with fewer items, and who deliberately kick in the conveyor belt switch at the glimpse of an "unacceptable" in their view, customer, whilst gossiping to the idle employee on the adjacent check-out, the customer struggling to empty the basket, ending up with products all over the place, much to the mutual enjoyment of these individuals, who clearly should not have been employed in the first place, a management problem from the top down it seems. The hiring criteria don't seem to include employee 'manners'. I object to being called "mate". I'm not their 'mate' particularly not one of these creatures, in what is becoming another ugly Australian practice, the abuse of customers at the checkout by individuals who clearly have not been screened for involvement with members of the public. In short, Woolworths sucks. Coles for me, the employees are better mannered, and don't seem to have personal issues at work. Suck it up. Learn.
