Nick and the boys at Yambla Auto Tune, provide excellent customer service. I have been getting my car and my wife's car serviced there for over 6 years now, and before Nick goes ahead and does a particular service, we always receive a call to confirm what needs doing and how much parts and labor will cost. We have found pricing to be very reasonable. We recently recommended our friends to take their car to Nick, because they were receiving ridiculously expensive prices to have a major service carried out on their Mercedez. Nick used genuine parts, and they were thrilled that the service cost them a third of what it would have cost at the dealers.

I have been a customer of Yambla Motors for over 8 years now. I send my car to them for servicing as well as when I have mechanical issues. Fabulous service and they give easy to understand explanations of work required. Reasonable and fair pricing and billing when I have investigated the work that needs to be done with others in the area.

Basically I was taken for a ride and told "we've done the work, you have to pay for it" on picking up my car I was shocked to find out they had quoted me GST EXCLUSIVE prices (I am a retail customer, not business and they knew that)

Letter I wrote them below

To Nick

I wish to give you some customer feedback and criticism on my experience of my service I had through your business.

I consider the charges for the services you provided me to be excessive, I have had other quotes and there is a disturbing trend that your charges are much higher than the market.
1, Child restraints anchors your charges were $100 more than other quotes (double the price of other quotes)
2, RWC $70 more than other quotes (again double the price of other quotes)
3, High flow Cat converter $230+ (or over 50%) more than other quotes (two other companies contacted)

Pedal rubbers $20 – work done without quoting, you said this would not be done but you did it anyway

Labour $45 - the above quotes I have mentioned are inclusive of Labour, materials and GST, so I can only presume this labour charge is to install a bulb, change wiper blades and swap pedals over, again when I spoke to you, you implied there would be no financial benefit to me changing the bulb etc myself, you never mentioned there would have been a $45 charge for something which I could have very easily done .

The car seems to have been driven more than what I would expect for a road test. you said the car would not leave the building, if you knew it was going to be driven as part of the road test you should have said so and not said the car would not be driven, in either case can you please tell me where and how far the car has been driven

Quoting GST exclusive prices is misleading to the general public

The spare type was replaced poorly and obviously incorrectly – not a huge issue but unprofessional and hardly what I would expect from a high quality/high service business especially considering the costs of your service

On the whole I feel I have been well and truly taken for a ride, I cannot comprehend how these huge differences in your prices and the market price of these products and services can be justified. If you wish to justify/explain why you feel the service you provide is 50% to twice as good as the rest of the market I am happy to listen.
