Quirky restaurant with some mean food, went in for burgers for dinner and their mushroom burger was divine! it is not often that a vegetarian burger hits the spot

Very Melbourne. They make a good and mean brekkie, staff is friendly and know what they're doing.

Went out for drinks and dinner here with the girlfriend and friends, the drinks were priced averagely and the person who served us was very rude and turn the evening a bit sour bit i would revisit and hopefully next time it goes a bit better!

This is the place to go if you are hungry and wanting really good, filling and not necessarily great for your figure food. The steak sandwich is amazing but i do love the hot dog! Also recommend to go for taco tuesdays there. Really good atmosphere always, grab a seat on the benches outside with a blanket provided by the cafe if you're cold. Good coffee but also good drinks as well. Don't let the shabby interior fool you- i always have great service thats not pretentious or too try hard.

I have been here for breakfast quite a few times now, my most recent experience wasnt as great as they rest have been. For breakfast you should expect to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The food here is fantastic I cant fault it, and nice coffee. The service isnt amazing, the most rent time we went the waitress put my order through incorrectly so my partner and I ended up with the same dish though we had ordered two different dishes, they made a bit of a deal about it coming over three of four time to check what I had actually ordered and asking if I was sure (I was being that the meal they served me had pesto in it which I am allergic to). I think if they had just said sorry and got my correct meal to me without such a fuss it would have been much more of a pleasent experience. They did get the right meal to my in the end though and it was really tasty.

Went there with friends for Sunday breakfast. We have been there before and really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, a bit retro and good food.
But, this time the music was loud, I mean really loud. We had to almost shout to talk to each other and the same was happening at the tables nearby. We asked to have the music turned down but were told no. This was the vibe they wanted. Hey, guys, for Friday night great, but for Sunday morning??? come on Who wants to go somewhere where you have to yell to get heard. the music is fine, but the volume was extreme. We asked if we could provide feedback to management on how the music was too loud, but were told it would not be passed on.
Well, a very good meal was just ruined by the lack of concern for the reasonable comfort of the people there.
We, and the people on the tables nearby won't be back...certainly not for breakfast. Shame.

I have been here for breakfast, lunch, coffee and even late night drinks. Every occasion has been great and I have never had a bad experience at Yellowbird. The food is delicious and large, I recommend the poached eggs with spinach and pumpkin or one of their awesome mexican style foods like the nachos (which come in a huge serving so you can easily share it between a few people). They also have a good range of beers. The music is always really good and the staff are friendly and laid back (which sometimes means slow service but its worth the wait).

Approximate cost: $15-20
