I had low expectations when I visited my first country hairdresser but I was very surprised and impressed. My hair was coloured just as I had asked and I didn't have to wait around for hours. The salon is only open part time so best to call and make and apointment
Approximate cost: $Colour $35
Not a cheap pub but definitely a beautiful one. Look out for the daily special on the blackboard above the bar. When I was there I had soup of the day plus 2 fillets of fish for $14. They have a veg and salad bar too.
Approximate cost: $20
A great place to stop for petrol as well as a snack and perhaps a newspaper. They have a dining room where you can have a cooked breakfast or perhaps afternoon tea. Also available are bakery items and cooked food such as fish and chips.
A great place to go for a quick meal. While you are waiting have a look at the various framed newspaper articles which are a great talking point. If you like pubs which have character than this is a great example.
Approximate cost: $14
Monday lunch is a great time to visit the Owen Arms Hotel as they have $7.50 specials. They are not always open for meals during the week for lunch so best to give them a call first. A beer garden is provided outside.
Approximate cost: $14
There is always a friendly face to greet you at this Op Shop. It is only open on Thursdays though. From memory the opening hours are 10.00am-3.00pm
A very caring doctor who helps children and adults alike. He bulk bills which is very useful when you have to visit him on a regular basis. Helps people with food and skin allergies and also conducts desensitisation treatments.
Approximate cost: $free
Really friendly staff at this deli. Has been part of the Golden Grove community for many years. I go out of my way to purchase my weekend paper rather than my local shop as I am always greeted with a smile. Great customer service.
A fantastic place to get away from it all. Situated on a hill top with nothing but wildlife and birds surrounding you. It gets pretty chilly at night but with a pot belly to keep you warm, who cares! There is no spa at this B&B but the olde worlde charm more than makes up for it. Make sure you plan your stay to coincide with one of the local weekend markets.
I have had a couple of operations at Calvary but only because that is the only hospital my specialist attended. The rooms are very old fashioned and very tired. Definitely not a pleasant place to be when you aren't feeling your best. The maternity ward is definitely not the best example in Adelaide. The staff however are very caring and efficient.
