About ten days ago, l posted a job on Mable for a two day respite stay while repairs were taking place in my apartment.

Okay, so here’s a lowdown of my 48 hour stay in the home of a support worker from Mable.

The support worker was verbally insulting, my small bedroom had no safe heating, the door did not close, the window would not open and there was no curtain or blinds covering the window, ie. zero privacy.

The door to the kitchen was kept shut during the afternoon and evening so l had no access to drink or food.

On the second evening, quite late, l went into the kitchen to make a sandwich which was the only meals provided, and the support worker informed me that the cost of the two day stay would be $4,500 and she insisted that l approve the agreement as soon as possible.

That 48 hours was literally one of the worst experiences of my life.
I left there starving, exhausted, and really sick.

I have since then tried numerous times to lodge a formal complaint with Mable and they refuse to deal with the issue.

I am currently in the process of lodging a complaint with the NDIS Complaints Commission.

Do l need to point out that l have a severe disability and that their treatment has been cruel, negligent and illegal?

I am quite certain that this is only the tip of the iceberg and the sooner a legal watchdog is brought in, the better.

Update.

I currently have three investigations taking place with the NDIS Complaints Commission and the NDIS Fraud Reporting Commission.

All three investigations are due to Support Workers from Mable having illegally withdrawn thousands of dollars from my NDIS funding.

It is just so heartbreaking, so very heartbreaking to trust and rely on someone so much and then suddenly discover that person who you have come to care for, to be using you and stealing money needed for food or shelter.

The fact that Mable allow people without qualifications or appropriate study to have access to the homes, lives and bank accounts of the most sick and vulnerable people in society is a shocking crime of negligence.
