Fixing a faulty light fitting
Adapting an existing light outlet and fitting a retro fixture there
Approximate cost: $90
I didn't actually get to even quote stage!
It took 2 calls to this business to get an agreement for
someone to come and give me a quote for a roller door at my house. On both calls I found the 2 different staff members to be dismissive and unhelpful. The last one needed to be persuaded to come out and do the advertised obligation free quote!
I decided to persevere because the B&D product has a good rep. on
the Word of Mouth on the Web website and because the B&D website is
really good - I expected a to be considering a quality product once I
had actually engaged this local B&D rep in a process that might result in
my custom.
Unfortunately the worker due to come and quote neither turned up nor
called at the agreed time - in fact didn't show up at all! I STILL haven't heard from 'em!
I wrote to the B&D Victorian office – they were great, responded immediately, said that they'd follow up my complaint with this distributor.
I've since had a great service from another B&D dealer (Prestige Doors – I'll write another review about them later...) SO what I want to convey is
The GOOD – B&D Customer service.
The BAD – This particular dealer, “Superior Garage Doorsâ€
The UGLY – Uh – well -rude salespeople are always unpleasant. Find another dealer for the product!
Skylight installation
Rainwater tank installation
Drainage of unused loft hot water system
Chris worked out a quote where we stood, on first evaluating the jobs, explaining it as he went. The eventual cost actually came in UNDER the quote! Wow!
The pipe from the tank to the pump sprang some leaks and we'd neither of us been happy with where he'd put the tap so he came around, put new components in and moved things around gratis and with good cheer.
What I also liked was his communication. As well as appreciating his directness (and humour) I was really happy that he negotiated with me instead of directing his attention to my male friend. Yeah, bizarrely, tradies really DO seem to do that!
I would recommend this guy with absolute confidence to anyone looking for plumbing work to be done.
And he's LOCAL!
When asked if he could do plumbing work that needs a certificate ( for Govt rebate) said that he could, but because he was no longer actually registered could "get a mate to sign the paperwork"
He misdiagnosed a timber floor problem.
He failed to follow through with sending a written quote for the jobs.
I didn't even get to BE a paying customer - I didn't bother calling him back to followup the missing quote.
