Together with my Mother, we purchased fabric from D’italia for my daughter’s wedding in Italy last month. The wedding had been postponed several times since 2020.
I discovered D’Italia on social media and went to the boutique November 2020. My initial impression was that D’italia would create the two outfits I had photos of; it was the reason I went to D’italia. I was very happy with the service provided in purchasing fabrics and measurements being taken. Pala was very helpful and grasped the idea of the look desired of the two outfits. I was then told dressmakers would be sourced to which I said to Pala that I thought D’italia would be creating the outfits. I was told they were too busy; two separate dressmakers at opposite ends of where my mother and I live were sourced. I was told by Pala the dates we could expect to go for initial appointment and also the pickup date of outfit - about two to three weeks prior to our departure date from Australia to Italy on 13th May, 2022.
My Mother was fortunate to be allocated a wonderful lady and dressmaker Elka, everything went to plan- initial measurements and discussion appointment and three further for trying the outfit which was beautiful.

Sadly, I was allocated Vicki. Nothing went to
plan and she was very unreliable. Much anxiety on my part and stress of not having my outfit at the twelve days prior to departure. I should have acted on my first instinct when I went for first fitting and only one section of the outfit was prepared “in a mock fabric”! From then until 12 days prior to departure I did not have one fitting. In despair I contacted D’italia (I should have done so much earlier I know that now) Pala was very understanding thankfully.
The week prior to departure I had no outfit and was forced to make other arrangements. What upset me more were the lies, totally unjustified.
I was grateful a kind person and dressmaker upon hearing of my plight - came to my rescue. I collected my outfit late evening prior to departure the following day. It was a valuable lesson learnt and sadly it did impact on me greatly until I was at the wedding and felt wonderful in my outfit. I highly recommend D’italia; whether their fabric is expensive or not, I don’t know except that I loved the fabrics chosen. Please future customers just be aware of the dressmaker you are allocated.
