This review is for La Porchetta, Mentone VIC

It was local, and we do like Italian food - in fact we had a lovely time at the La Porchetta near Victoria Market, so thought we'd try to support local businesses. The service was non-existent, the food mediocre and the value for money abysmal. Why is it still open?

Murdoch at Posh Printing is one of the most obliging people around - he gets quotes to you quickly and his prices are extremely competitive. His turnaround is very quick - I have asked for some pretty fast jobs and he has come up trumps. Definitely worth giving him a call.

A beautiful venue and the dining experience is exceptional. Just love the ambience of the restaurant and the staff are very attentive. Excellent menu - all the things one would expect from fine French dining

I have been seeing Anthony for about 10 years now and have a maintenance check each 6 weeks. We call him "Mr Magic". He has only had one failure with me - and even the specialist chiropractor he referred me to was unsuccessful, so who can complain?

The venue is delightful, the service impeccable, the food divine! Plenty of waiters who were unobtrusive and also had a laugh with us. We had a banquet and the dishes came at just the right speed, there was plenty in each serving and it was all delicious. I'm a bit past Chinese food because after Thai and Malaysian it can be a bit bland, but if you choose carefully, you can get some nice spicy dishes. All in all a fabulous dining experience.

Waited a bit longer than would have been expected to be seated. A bit draughty though - and we had to move to another table. However, all that being said, the Keysborough Hotel should be commended for its value-for-money menu and friendliness of staff.
We had a Seniors meal which was more than enough size-wise (too large in fact if you choose the chicken schnitzel). Their menu for other meals is extensive and caters for all tastes. A good pub.

We were looking for a light lunch on a Saturday and chanced by the Ha'penny Bridge. They had $10 lunch menus ($12 if you wanted the Chicken Parma). The service was quick and friendly, the meal was excellent (just the right size for lunch), and the Sticky Date Pudding dessert (ordered for one but got a double serve) was just sublime.
Just taken over by new owners and they have obviously given a lot of thought into renewing the venue. The crockery and cutlery was fantastic (these little things do matter).

We pot-lucked this one - and it turned out to be the one of the best Thai meals we have had outside Thailand. Their Salt & Pepper Squid entree is to die for. The staff are quick and friendly, it was great value for money - and the portion size was extremely good (too much actually).
Not necessarily the place to spend the night with friends - more for casual eating.

We are regular visitors to Thailand and are really keen on Thai food. We actually visited this restaurant because of two things - location and the WOMOW ratings. My husband had the Tom Yum Goong soup as an entree - he has this at every Thai restaurant and has his own rating scale. The flavour was fine (not as spicy as expected though) and although he had three prawns, that was about all the tangible ingredients. There was no tomato, one tiny mushroom, none of the other visible ingredients such as onion, chilli peppers etc.
Service was slow, as we have seen on WOMOW, but when we were served we had to order very quickly as our waiter was very impatient - in fact he 'tutted' when I was giving the order and had to refer back to the menu. We ordered at a time when the restaurant wasn't all that busy. They seemed to spend a lot of time with their take-away customers.
Everything else ordered was fine - but with the choice we have of Thai restaurants, we won't be returning.

Had a cut and blow wave - very much in need of! Delightful staff and judging by the comments flowing around, they have a very regular clientele. Most impressed with the 'no added extra' approach - they didn't suggest I needed a heat treatment, extra stabiliser, volume adder etc etc - that you usually get with the shopping mall hairdressers. That in itself is great.
