From the experiences we have had, we can recommend Scott Juda and Accrue Equity to all of our family and friends with confidence they too will receive the same excellent service that we did.

My wife and I recently engaged Accrue Equity as our broker to assist us with a mortgage to purchase our first home. We were dealing with Scott who helped us from the initial phone call right through until well after we had settled in our property – and continues to follow up with us quite regularly to this day.

The main reason we chose a mortgage broker over a big bank (or small bank) was I wanted someone who would explain to me the difference between one product and another, and how it would affect me so I could weigh up my options and make my own decision. I had spent a lot of time researching on my own before reaching out to Accrue Equity, and I found most of the banks I had called would just tell me basic information as listed on their website, not explain anything in depth and all seemed to have a call centre attitude… it didn’t matter if I was interested or not because they had more callers on the line.

Unfortunately for Scott, I am terribly stubborn and decided against some of his recommendations. I had chosen a bank/product that we wanted and ended up paying 0.05% more, but I fixated on a particular feature offering 10 offset accounts. As my luck would have it, it nearly turned into one of the worst decisions I have ever made.

Being my first mortgage and given it was an off the plan purchase, the settlement date was not fixed in but fast approaching, fair to say I was beginning to panic. We settled on time, but that's when the problem with the bank kicked in.

The bank had made some internal mistakes, and due to their misleading documentation, I ended up with a product that was being changed at the same time I was approved. They pushed me onto the new version of the product which didn't deliver the features that I wanted, which both Scott and I had only found out after settlement as the bank didn't communicate this.

I made several complaints to the bank and was getting nowhere.
I was starting to worry I would need to contact the ombudsman to get me out of this but it was at this point that Scott demonstrated to me the difference between dealing with a bigger bank or dealing with a broker who cares about his clients.

Scott put in a lot of hours and late nights to help me take on the bank, and surprised me at how high up senior management he was able to escalate the matter. Scott assured my wife and I that we were all in this together, and always made time to update us both regardless how late at night it was or if he was at home with his family on a weekend, responding to us was a priority to him. That is the personal touch you get when you chose a company like Accrue Equity.

Due to Scott’s many years in the banking sector, we were able to achieve the positive outcome he had assured us from the beginning, and I must give credit where credit is due. The bank had admitted to the error’s and heartache caused (they even had to change their website as a result), and Scott made sure my wife and I were duly compensated.

Who would have thought what started as a nightmare could turn into such a positive result. A happy customer, happy broker, and the bank retains its business.
