To be fair I have not tried the other flavours but it is unlikely I will do so after trying the almond & sea salt dark chocolate. The wrapper is beautiful and the words rich with promise .Given that I have a penchant for dark chocolate and I adore almonds, it seemed that I was a bite away from bliss. Alas upon the first mouthful, the sensation I received ,was as if while swimming in the ocean, I had inadvertently bitten into a piece of drift wood that splintered into my mouth releasing a nausea inducing, mouthful of salt . To make things worse my mouth felt laden with an odd plastic tasting residue. The almonds were so dry and over cooked they lacked any taste . It was actually the most unpleasant thing I have ever had in my mouth .To my horror and enduring mortification ,despite the fact it was a gift from my beloved at Christmas ,I spat it out immediately .My husband was so shocked I tried it again for his sake with the same result ! However when he tried the chocolate he had the same reaction . Before this experience I could not conceive of anyone older than 6 months spitting any food out (particularly chocolate) but the gag response was automatic in both of us. It is possible that the other blocks of chocolate live up to their promise but I shall never know as I'm not game enough to try another.The level of salt was vomit inducing and I am one of those people who love salt on everything !
