Issues with Tapp Electrical include:
Bloated time for the work.
When we asked for an estimate at the end of the job we were told this was not possible because of the software accounting system used by Tapp Electrical.
Weak arguments in response to the concerns we raised.

The work:
A spot of rain and worn electrical cabling to the shed caused a short in the electrical system. This was self-diagnosed and related to Tapp when booking the call-out. A tradesperson came out the next day. The work replacing the cabling and a junction box took about 30 minutes. Also, I agreed to have the fuse box checked for other faults. A small anomaly was found, but no remedial work was done to fix it.

Pros:
The work was of a good standard.
Cons:
The response to our enquiry took more than one week.
The labour charge seemed bloated for the job and was poorly argued when we questioned it ( 1 ¾ hours).
The argument offered by Tapp Electrical was that the van sync’d to a GPS system was in the driveway for that amount of time charged. A further argument included that you signed in a blank box on an electronic device.
And our favourite – an inability to provide an estimation is normal because of the billing software.

Our Thoughts
Clearly we did not ask how long the van was parked on the driveway, we wanted to know if it should have been in the driveway for that amount of time.
Catch 22 for signing in a blank box on an electronic device, if we had refused until we received an estimate the van would have been in the driveway longer and we would have been charged a longer labour charge.
We were extremely concerned that we had to trust someone who cannot estimate their time (not the time the van is parked in the driveway) and multiple this by the company labour charge, then add the cost of materials, but is working on your electricity.

Would you recommend this company?
No.
