Today I took my Mercedes Benz to Memmotts around midday today because it was misfiring. I spoke with the French bloke. I asked if he could scan the engine computer system to see which coil was misfiring as I had just put new spark plugs in. I asked if I could wait. He went and spoke with older bloke who runs the place. He said I could leave the car and come back at 4.30pm. He said it would cost $66 to scan and diagnose the problem. I did not ask for repairs. When I returned at 4.30pm I was told they found the misfiring coil and ordered in the part and replaced it without contacting me. I was told I had to pay $261. I explained this to the bloke who runs the place and he said in an aggressive manner I was just trying to help you out. I informed him everyone has a budget and that is why I asked him to scan and diagnose the problem only. If I wanted Memmotts to do the repair I would have booked ahead so the extra expense would fit in my budget. Spending my money without my consent is not helping me out. He replied you will just pay the bill, take your car and go away. I said I am not happy with how I have been treated today and that I will not come back. Shame I have always been happy with work they have done for me in the past.
