Had a 6.24Kw Solar system installed by Positronic Solar in Brisbane in October. This business was recommended to me by many people on various forums. Although they charge a little more, they do actually use quality gear, and they just don't say it is quality (like many other large scale solar companies), it actually IS quality. The communication from Day 1 was excellent and the install was done professionally and with great attention to detail. The system installed has performed flawlessly so far, exceeding many others around the area we are in, and it logs data to online sites so you can check the status of your system and how much solar power it is generating, updating every 5 minutes. Response times are great with this company, and I am very impressed with them. More than happy to recommend Positronic Solar to anyone in South-East Qld looking to get solar on their roof. They are not the cheapest, but when it comes to solar, the cheapest is NOT want you want to put your money into. Pay more for quality, because it pays off in the long run.

You can imagine the concern I had when I noticed termite mud tunnels running up the side of a brick wall and then going into the house via the Brick weep holes! Needless to say, I acted fast to get this checked out. I was pretty sure these tunnels were fairly new, as I had not spotted them before.

I looked up a few Termite treatment business online. I came across some reviews of Termite Solutions here on WOMO and a couple on other sites. Reviews were favourable. I sent Termite Solutions an email outlining what I had found. Within 30 minutes, I had a call back from Mal, who asked me a few quick questions and asked me to send him some photos of the mud tunnels. I did so and he got back to me to reassure me that he thought there was not an immediate threat, given his knowledge and experience of termites. What a relief!

I had Mal come around to do a normal termite inspection nonetheless as I was overdue for one, and he turned up promptly, and with his thermal camera. He checked the house and found no new damage or evidence of a termite problem.

With the termite intrusion into the front of the house via the bricks, Mal determined these were micro-termites, and not a real problem, and that it was common for these termites to appear this time of year. He mentioned they would not do much damage at all, but obviously recommended removing them. He gave me advice on how to achieve this myself, or offered to do it for me for a very reasonable fee. While I chose to do it myself following Mal's excellent advice, it might have been just as easy to have him do it (it took me a good whole day digging a trench and applying a treatment). If you are not into physical labour, pay to get it done!

Long story short, our termite problem was solved, and our house checked by a real professional of the trade. Mal is a great, friendly bloke who knows his stuff. Can highly recommend him for your termite treatment or inspection needs. Thanks Mal!
