I am so sick of supermarkets that promise so much but increasingly care less about choice and nothing about customer service, which is why I pass by my local, and travel almost 20kms to buy my meat from Michael. He appreciates and values my custom, and my money no matter how much or little I buy. He knows meat, how it should be cut, where it has come from, and how it should be prepared. His prices are generally quite comparable to supermarket and the quality is superior. No matter how busy, he never makes you feel rushed to make a choice. He remembers your name, and the meat you generally purchase. His is a family business, and his wife is every bit as welcoming as he is. He will give you what you want, cut as you want it, and do it with a smile. I also have an English Mastiff as well as a chi, and Michael has a great selection of bones, chicken carcasses etc which he will also cut, split, or mince. His shop is one of the few independent, service driven butchers who work hard for their money, and appear to understand and appreciate that you do also. When you complete your purchase, you leave with good quality meat, a smile, and sometimes a recipe swap with Michael or his lovely wife. I recommend his mince, I absolutely recommend his pork, cheese and jalapeño sausages, and if your budget allows, his rolled stuffed roasts are really tender and well worth a Sunday treat, and his fillet steak ( a big treat) has never disappointed, even if, like me, your cooking skills can be a bit ‘patchy’. Depending on choice 60 - 100 dollars including dogs meat/bones.
