This review is for Blow It's A Hair Thing, Adelaide SA

05 May 2009

I recently had my hair styled at Blow Its a Hair Thing by Tracey, who was very nice. The person who booked me in was very nice also. Both were good to talk to and not fake like you sometimes get. My hair looked nice when I left the salon, and I got a couple of nice comments about it, but it fell out really quickly, and the loose GHD curls didn't hold like they did the last time I had my hair styled in this way at a different salon.

Approximate cost: $50 for a blowdry

This review is for Posh Nails, Adelaide SA

Located conveniently in the Myer Centre, Posh Nails are very quick in performing acrylic nails and refills (under an hour most times for me). The price is very good, and my nails always look nice when I leave. A couple of the younger girls need some customer service training though, as when I came in with a bunch of fresh flowers one day, the girl who was doing my nails told me to put them on the next nail station, which I did. When the girl who works at that nail station came back, she didn't want them there, so she shoved the fresh flowers roughly down the back of my chair, in the gap behind my butt. She didn't say anything to me though but said something to the girl who was doing my nails in another language, which was a bit rude, I thought.

I have been to Tammy's for acrylic nails and refills and pedicures. They are friendly, but if you just feel like chilling out and not talking, they don't carry on with chatter. They are quite quick, and reasonably priced. Their pedicures are particularly good.

The service is fantastic. I have been to Heaven for waxing, and they make you feel comfortable. They offer discounts to students, which is great. The best waxers I have been to.

This review is for Cherubs Craft & Art Supplies, Blackwood SA

05 May 2009

Cherubs sells lots of lovely household items and craft supplies, as well as jewellery, toys quilts and lots of other things. Their supply of different types of ribbon is particularly impressive, and they have a much wider range than either Spotlight or Lincraft do - I have been able to find what I have been looking for there when the big chains haven't been able to supply what I needed. There are lots of pretty things to look at, and they run craft classes too.

A great, relaxing atmosphere with live bands and beaten up, homely furniture. There are lots of interesting nic nacks to look at behind the bar and on the walls you can meet some nice people there. A great place for an after work pint.

This review is for Banner Blackwood Mitre 10 , Blackwood SA

05 May 2009

There is one particular worker at Mitre 10 Blackwood, who unfortunately I can't remember his name. He has brown curly hair and really goes out of his way to help customers. When we wanted passionfruit vines, he made sure he got them in for us. His advice is really good, and you can tell that he cares about his job. He goes that extra mile. They are a bit pricier than some of the other hardware stores, but for the customer service and advice, it is worth paying that little bit extra.

Noodles were hot when we got them, which doesn't always happen in noodle places. The flavours were delicious, and the staff looked after us, although they were kind of formal, referring to my partner as "Sir", which I didn't really expect. The shop is nice and clean but the best thing is the flavour of the food. Better than your average noodle bar, and lots more options

Casual place to drop by for a pint after a long day. There isn't really a dress code, so that allows you to go straight from wherever you have been for a relaxing, fun time. They offer a drinkers discount card, which gives you a percentage off. The staff are laid back and look after you well. They also do meals which are regular pub fare, and reasonably priced.

Customer service is excellent - friendly and helpful. They have loads of different titles that you would have to order in at other stores. The staff are very knowledgable, and you can pick up tickets to gigs from there too. They are like what a record store should be
