When I first walked into the salon, I told the lady at reception that I was reserved about getting my hair done as hairdressers never seem to get it right, and she assured me that this salon would be different
I spent 4 hours at the salon where I asked to get balayage highlights. I had five pictures depicting what I was after and was told it was certainly doable. Unfortunately, the end result of my hair looks nothing like the pictures I brought in to show the hairdresser. I was concerned when she was drying my hair and told her several times that I can barely see the lighter highlights. I thought maybe once I got home and could see my hair in a different light that I might change my mind, but the more I look at it, the more disappointed I am. I was told that it will lighten after a few washes, but it hasn't. You can barely see any highlights. I am very disappointed that I did not get what I asked for.
Not only did I not get the colour and affect I asked for, but I asked Francesca to cut in a long layer into the back of my hair…and she didn’t. I asked her about this when she was drying off my hair, and she said she had done it, but I did not see her cut anything other than trim the ends and the front layers. When she was drying my hair, I told her it was not what I had asked for, and she could see I was disappointed. She didn’t even get the mirror to show me the back of my hair when she was finished. She just removed the cape and said she was finished. She told me if I was unhappy, I could always put a colour over it at home! I did not waste my money and time to go home and just put a colour in myself.
I was also quoted $317 as “worst case scenario” (her exact words), but was charged over $360 after getting it done! When I questioned this, Francesca (the hairdresser who did my hair) told me it was because I had opted for the treatment, but she was the one who suggested it and told me it was recommended because of the other things she was doing to my hair (so, doesn’t this constitute “worst case scenario”?).
I have been to three hairdressers in my area since then, and showed them the same pictures I showed Francesca of what I wanted done (all pictures showed Balayage techniques). All three told me that Balayage was NOT what was performed on my hair, and that I had fine foils put in instead. I also asked them to check on the length of the back of my hair and asked if there were layers added, to which they all said no.
I emailed my disappointment to the salon and they called me to say that I could go back in to get it fixed. I shouldn’t NEED to have it fixed. I should have been done correctly when I was there. I live in Sydney and this is a 3 hour trip! I told them I was hoping to visit again within the month but this is no longer going to occur. I emailed again to tell them, and they have just ignored me. I should have been given a refund. The hairdresser did NOT deliver.
Now, everyone there was friendly and polite. I am not disputing this fact. But I did not go to their salon for a chat with nice people. I am extremely disappointed and upset that my son wasted his money on what was meant to be a nice treat for his mum.
