Pascticceria is the Italian word for pastry shop, but here in this small Gympie cafe, there's a lot more on offer than just cakes and cappuccinos. Serving simple Italian salads and breads, this place delivers uncomplicated, fresh food made from local and organically grown ingredients. Visit for late morning and order a salad or a panini my favourites are based on proscuitto, roast vegetables or smoked salmon, along with an organic fair trade single origin coffee my fav is a Long Macchiato. But take note: the husband and wife team who run this business do not open on weekends as they want to spend time with their young family. So make it your business as I do make it mine to frequent it between the hours of 8am and 5pm and revel in the fact that you can hang out til Monday to enjoy the ambience that being in this Pasticerria brings. It is so worth the effort - we: my partner my friends and the countless strangers I see there all think it is and I have never been there and felt unwelcome.

These women went out of their way to make sure that my experience of buying a wedding gown was fantastic. I had 1:1 service, my gown was fitted. I selected exactly the veil I wanted with the number of tiers,the trim, the shape and the crystals I was even able to include the colour of my wedding theme into my veil - a gorgeous mauve. When I saw myself in the mirror I just fell in love with myself and Karen who was serving me just saw that and honoured my feelings - there was no hard sell - it was entirely my decision to purchase. I received a gown bag and some pot pourri of my choice to keep my gown smelling gorgeous until the big day - May 2011. They are new to the business coming from other industries yet in my experience they were far better than those people who have been in business for a long time. I ended up with a far more formal gown than I expected - the value was great - there is so much work and so much love in my dress and I look like love in it.
