This review is for Pizza Caffe, St Lucia QLD

Easily the best pizza in Brisbane! The Pizza Caffe is run by the UQ student union and I guess was initially started aimed at Uni students. It has quickly gained quite a reputation for their inventive pizzas with names that pay tribute to famous Italian directors, stars and films. Great pizzas, terrific prices... just a shame that the Schonell movie theatre isn't still open as well.

This review is for Sushi Tom, Wishart QLD

I was reluctant to rate this restaurant from a completely selfish reason... Sushi Tom is in a small suburban shopping centre but is easily one of the best places in Brisbane for homestyle Japanese food. It is little known and that can be a good thing when it comes to getting a table (there aren't many!). The food and the service is unbelievable!

The interior of the restaurant is warm and inviting with lovely little booth seats and the tables are candlelit. The main attraction in this restaurant though is the food. Seriously the best we have ever eaten!

This review is for Punjabi Palace Restaurant and Take Away, South Brisbane QLD

verified email - 05 Jun 2008

Punjabi Palace has the reputation of being one of the best Indian Restaurants in Brisbane. Knowing that reputation we ordered some takeaway. We found that the prices were a little steep for the amount of food that we were given. We made the mistake of ordering a vegetarian meal of Alu Matar and paid $11.95 for what was essentially 5 quarters of potato. Not very good value. It all tasted really good though and we'd recommend it to anyone who loves Indian and doesn't mind paying more for a restaurant with a very good reputation.

This review is for Doninis BYO Wishart, Wishart QLD

Doninis has a massive reputation for their unusual flavoured pizzas. We have bought several from them and we can vouch for the Pepporoni & Mushroom, Vegetarian Delight and Tuscan Style. All very very delicious. The only complaint we would have would be that the pizzas are very expensive for the size!

This review is for Lucky Point Chinese Take Away, Camp Hill QLD

verified email - 05 Jun 2008

Lucky Point is a take away only Chinese restaurant. Their food is incredible but the major drawcard for us was that they use no MSG in their cooking, something which is incredible important to us. The only drawback of Lucky Point is that they don't accept credit cards or EFTPOS for payment... we don't mind that too much though as the food is delicious!

This review is for Mughal Palace, Mount Gravatt QLD

These guys may not be the cheapest in the area but their food is incredibly good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very warm and inviting. The Malai Kofta, while pretty expensive considering that you get 4 pieces for $12.90, is to die for!

This review is for Welcome Indian Restaurant, Camp Hill QLD

We ordered a takeaway. While they were very welcoming and professional we were absolutely astounded to find metal shavings from a piece of steel wool in our curry! We can only assume that whoever washed the pan used steel wool and some of the fragments were then transferred to our meal.

This review is for Elio's Osteria Restaurant, Carina Heights QLD

We expected big things from this restaurant as a lot of people rate it very highly. We went and ordered a few items from the menu, a pizza, lasagne, foccacia and some canneloni. The foccacia was lovely! I found the pizzas extremely tasteless as was the lasagne but the worst item for us was the canneloni which was watery and had no depth of flavour whatsoever. Disappointing experience!

We ordered a takeaway and still received excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble for the restaurant and they consistently make us feel very welcome. The food is incredible too!
