Don't let looks deceive you - this is a nice place! My wife has only gone there for nail service, so I can't comment on anything else they may offer. The place is average size and can serve about 6-8 people at one time.

The have regular nail stations and massage chairs for pedicures. The nail service seems to be the best we have seen - $10 for a full set of acrylic or $10 fill ins.

The technicians are polite and good at what they do. A full set took about 1/2 an hour and the polish dried very quickly. They can do nail art & apply gems too.

This is the only place my wife goes because the service is quick and the price can't be beat for a full set/fill.

Approximate cost: $10.00

This review is for Smart Bakery & Lunches, Fairfield NSW

verified email - 19 Sep 2013

This is a tiny bakery on the corner near Fairfield station. This is a walk-up place, so you don't actually go inside. There are no tables & chairs to eat at.

We go there to get the bread rolls and sometimes the cakes. The sign says they offer lunch but there is no menu hanging up and I've never seen anything but normal bakery stuff - no sandwiches etc. They do have a fridge for drinks though.

The bread is average, and the service is very quiet. If you're looking for variety or friendly service, just go somewhere else. This is the kind of place I go to when I just need some rolls and I want to get them quickly.

This review is for Carlo & Sam's Barber Shop, Fairfield NSW

I went in with my wife to get a cut. The shop is small but enough for 3 people to get cuts at a time. They have some seats for waiting, as well as magazines and a tv. The price of a men's cut was $20 for me.

The cut was perfectly fine and done how I asked. The barber even shaved me at no additional cost. I think the value is pretty good.

The bad part was the barber himself. He spent the entire half hour talking to another customer (which was fine) but the entire conversation was about how bad Americans and American culture was. Unknown to him, my wife (who was waiting for me and heard the whole thing) is American.

We found it completely disrespectful and haven't returned. No matter how good the cut is, I won't give my money to place with such insulting workers.

This review is for DNA Discount Furniture, Fairfield NSW

We went into this discount furniture store to pick up a chair for the living room. The shop is pretty small and cluttered. Its difficult to move around in. We spent awhile trying to find something that worked for us, while also trying to not knock anything over.

We picked out a chair and it was around $60. At the time it seemed like an average deal, nothing special. The staff were average also, not super friendly but not rude either.

We took the chair home and within 2 days had to fix the leg. It wasn't worth our time to try to get a refund so we just fixed it ourselves. I only recommend this place if you double check everything before you take it home.

This review is for Dry Cleaning Alterations, Fairfield NSW

verified email - 17 Sep 2013

This place is pretty average when it comes to service. I had a hard time understanding the staff, and that might lead me to go someplace else in the future.

They do dry cleaning and alterations. I had a suit dry cleaned for about $10 and some pants fixed for $5. Everything was completed when I picked them up 2 days later.

The shop is tiny - you can't even fit inside, its just a window that you do your transaction through. So if you're pressed for time and use the Fairfield station anyways, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, go to a larger or more well known place.

This review is for Adria Rybar And Grill, Sydney NSW

We went to Adria for a special dinner date (myself and my wife). We loved the nice decor and the views. The place is right on the harbour and is gorgeous at night.

We got the dinner special - you get 2 courses and wine for $30. I had the chicken and my wife had the pasta. We had no complaints about the food or the price.

The waitress seemed a bit cold, and we thought maybe she was just stressed or busy. Otherwise, we had a great time and would consider returning in the future.

This review is for Captain Cook Cruises, Sydney NSW

We took a small tour from Circular Quay to the zoo. The cruise price was pretty inexpensive, around $13 round trip per person. The quay has some food options and benches if you have to wait a bit for the next boat.

We really enjoyed the trip! I liked how the tour guide told everyone the history and facts about the harbour and stopped at some historical sites. He seemed very knowledgeable.

Seating can be hit or miss. You can sit inside or outside. The first ride was pretty full, so we had to stand at the back of the boat and it was a bit uncomfortable and made me nervous. The trip back was emptier and we were able to sit outside on the seats and enjoyed it much more.

We would take this trip again but only if there were not as many people so we could sit and enjoy the views.

This review is for Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney NSW

This is a great museum right on Darling Harbour. The prices range from $7 for a basic ticket to about $27 for the special exhibits. We went to the Titanic exhibit and it was amazing. The museum itself is very large and there are so many things to see. I liked that they have a sizable American section. They have a gift shop close to the entrance and the prices are average.

I think that children 10+ would enjoy this more than very small kids. There are still some fun things for kids to do and see. For an additional cost, you can tour the ships and naval vessels outside in the harbour.

There are no food options inside the museum, but there are of course many places to eat all around the harbour. I recommend coming soon because their Viking exhibit just opened.

Great place to eat! We went on a Friday and the place was pretty crowded. It took awhile to get served but its understandable and I didn't mark them down for it. The staff were all friendly. The business is heritage-listed. The waitress told me they have over 100 different brews. I suggest taking advantage of the $15 lunch specials. The location is near the harbour so its close to the museums and attractions. This would be a great place to come after work.

This review is for Antonious Seafood And Grill, Fairfield NSW

Very good place! They sell all kinds of fresh seafood, and have a grill as well. There aren't places to sit inside, but they do have some benches and tables right out front. I ordered some grilled prawns and they were cooked perfectly. I also had the Greek salad which had very yummy feta. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions with a smile. Next time I'll take some fresh fish home with me to cook on my own.
