This review is for Kafe Laguna Bar & Restaurant, Whyalla SA

verified email - 24 Oct 2014

Kafe Laguna Bar & Restaurant is open seven days a week, for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, and lunch, coffee/tea and cake Sunday to Tuesday.

The Kafe is family friendly, being open to children, as well as breastfeeding friendly; making mother's feel welcome to feed their children.

The Kafe is clean, well presented and open, with occasional entertainment on the weekends.

The menu includes options of entree, lunch, dinner and dessert, with a good variety of both hot, cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The menu has variety which include burgers, salad, italian (pasta/risotto), steak, chicken and asian flavours.

I personally have been there multiple times for dinner and can not go past their spring rolls for entree, and pork belly for main. The only issue is that each time I have been there the meal is either really nice or only average, to poor, making it 'hit and miss'.

I have also been there on multiple occasions for drink and cake, but sometimes find it disappointing with the limited amount of cake available (not sure if this is because of the time of the week I attend).

In addition to the meals being 'hit and miss' the service and friendliness of staff is also 'hit and miss'. I have been there when there are friendly staff, who are happy to serve you and polite, including the owner. However, I have also been there when it is clear that the staff do not want to be at work, and have also heard the staff openly complaining about working in the Kafe which made me feel uncomfortable.

I recommend giving it a go, because when it is good, it is GOOD, however, just be prepared for the not so good...

This review is for Hotel Eyre, Whyalla SA

The Hotel Eyre has recently been upgraded and is so much more inviting and appealing. The Hotel Eyre now provides both inside and outside dining experience, with outside having two large screen TV's to watch sport and/or movies. The Hotel Eyre is for drinking and dining, with me using it for dining...

I attend the Hotel Eyre on a semi regular basis as there are limited pubs available to eat, BUT I am never disappointed! The menu offered is extensive with multiple choices for entree, dinner and dessert; as well as a full bar of drinking options. The prices are competitive, with a number of special options provided throughout the week, and despite being the 'special' the meal is still large and tasty! The meals are generally well cooked and prompt to your table; and I have never had any issues with the meal being cold on arrival (at times they are so fresh you burn your mouth on the food).

I have been to the Hotel Eyre as part of a small group of diners and as a large group and have generally had the same experience in all circumstances.

The service is generally friendly, with the staff being welcoming and polite, keeping your table clean as plates are finished with.

Highly recommended as I regularly dine there and will continue to.

This review is for Final Touch Beauty, Whyalla SA

Needed an eyebrow and lip wax pretty desperately, so made contact with Final Touch Beauty who got me in for an appointment that afternoon. The shop is well presented, clean and welcoming, as is the staff. The staff were friendly and efficient, getting me in and out for my appointment within 15 minutes.

My lip wax was completed well leaving no hair, however I was a little disappointed with my eyebrow wax as there were small hairs left and and the shape of them were a little different.

Will try again in the future for other services such as facials etc given the friendly staff and clean shop.

This review is for BJ's Deli Cafe, Whyalla SA

The cafe is friendly and welcoming, with service that is always with a smile. We found this deli/cafe on a family walk and decided to give it a go as it is local to our home. We weren't disappointed! The cafe/deli is family friendly, with the option to eat in or take away; it is clean and offers so many options from sandwiches, pies/pasties, freshly made burgers/hotdogs and on a winters day home made soup.

The deli/cafe is open six days a week and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner! The food that I've tried, multiple bacon and egg rolls and a hamburger were absolutely delicious. The food is well prepared and full of flavour, completely hitting the spot, over and above what your stomach can take!

This review is for The Custom Kitchen Company, Port Lincoln SA

We had no storage in our newly purchased house, however had space to build... We came across this company and approached them for a quote. Within one day of making contact the salesperson had attended our home. During the home visit she was very helpful, and discussed all our options with us, including giving her personal advice on what she believed would fit the house and us better. The salesperson advised that it would take a few days to return the quote, however we received it the very next day.
The quote for floor to ceiling built in wardrobes; and built in cupboards in our laundry and toilet was well designed, and a good price. The salesperson explained everything about the plans and price in detail.
The salesperson assisted us in picking appropriate colours and explained all steps along the process, keeping in regular contact in relation to what was occurring for our build.
All cupboards were built to expectation, with the tradespeople being friendly, courteous, honest and prompt. Whilst building my cupboards the tradespeople noted slight damage on one of the panels and immediately pointed it out us and advised it would be replaced (it was within a fortnight).
I would highly recommend the company and will use them again for further storage needs.
