I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience with this practice today. I had experienced good service there in the past which caught me off guard to say the least.

I received a call approx. 1 hour prior saying their EFTPOS was down and they required cash payment. I do not believe this first issue was my problem. I would have been happy for them to charge my card once they had their systems up.

I'm not really sure how the receptionist could assess this over the phone but none of this was mentioned when making the 1hour and 15 minute appointment. She said she would call me back to advise me if I still was able to have my appointment.

No call.

I walk into the clinic before the appointment - by which stage I was at a point of thinking ok, IT issues happen so I'll grin and bare it if need be....The receptionist said 'I haven't had a chance to confirm anything yet' (from over an hour ago?) .....and instead of offering me a chance to sit in the waiting room said 'just go for a walk around the shopping centre and i will call you'. I felt very frustrated and upset by them not being hospitable - and in a sense asking me to leave while they worked themselves out. This was a case of adding insult to injury and for the experience that led me to be there in the first place.

I went outside the Broadway centre, called them back and said as nicely as I could 'I just want to go home now and I will be requesting my previous records be transferred to a new clinic once I find one'... I said to the receptionist that I had been through a lot recently and apologised but felt cancelling was better then getting upset. The receptionists response was 'well you will need a form'.

Anyhow, after all this I start to make my way home to then receive a call at approximately 4.10pm (original appointment was scheduled for 3.45pm) saying 'the dentist can see you so come back if you can?'

? Really!

I won't be going back anytime soon. A kurfuffle that I really was not up for and I just don't understand a clinic that does not have a contingency plan in place for their credit card system that most patients would be using for emergency dental work.
