2 years ago, Ashley and his amazing team did a fantastic job helping us say goodbye to my nanna. Then just recently, my mum passed away and because of the positive previous experience, we chose Academy Funerals again. The way they treated us was professional, compassionate and with understanding. They handled all the arrangements with one simple appointment and helped make the process simple abd stress free.

Ashley and the team were so supportive and took so much pressure of us when we had to say goodbye to my Dad. I had phoned around to a few places and all were very expensive, so I was very pleasantly surprised at how affordable Academy was in comparison to others. I was shocked at how much of a mark-up other companies had for the fee for opening the grave compared to Academy, it was very obvious that other companies were profiting on having to open the grave, while Academy kept it affordable.

Ashley was always very kind when we met with him and made sure that Dad was buried in his favourite clothes. At the cemetery my nana couldn't get out of the car because of her ill health, and Ashley made sure there was room for her car to park beside the grave so she could still view the funeral.

I hope I don't need Ashley's services again soon, but I know if I do lose a loved one Ashley will look after us.

don’t understand any bad reviews. I used this company for my mother’s funeral and they were absolutely outstanding. Professional sympathetic understanding and great with their time be it the time they took to go through everything with me or all the subsequent calls I made asking questions. They were more than helpful getting me through a tough time and a tough period of time. Prices were outstanding as well. We went midrange cost but they cover cheap to all options someone might want. Magnificent and can’t speak more highly. Thank you Ashley and thank you to all your staff!!

We couldn't be more pleased with the assistance we received from Robin and Acadamy Funerals during what is naturally a very difficult time. Robin was very caring in the way he dealt with our late father, and made the whole process very easy for us, seamlessly taking care of all the details and administrative requirements. Nothing was too hard for Robin, and he even went above and beyond to collect the royal naval uniform that dad was to wear from my house.

The care and thoughtfulness that went into walking my family through such a difficult and sad time was outstanding. I would recommend Academy funerals to anyone. My daughter was only 26 when she passed. I tried ringing them and couldnt get through. Within 5mins Ashley was calling back. They took care of everything. It took alot of pressure of myself. They were easy to deal with and it was nice they took the time and explained everything. I cant thank them enough.

Academy Funerals are NOT a member of the Funeral Directors Association. So their operating standards, conduct and business ethics are not subject to any industry standard or benchmarking. This means that they can basically treat you and your family however they want to without being held accountable by any industry body. Please do not use them. Academy Funerals involved itself in private family matters and in doing so breached confidentiality and failed to pass information on to me which resulted in my daughter not being cremated for some 5 months after her passing as she gradually decomposed in their care. Thanks to the Coroner for providing corrected information and the Supreme Court. this was resolved no thanks to Academy Funerals. I hold no trust in this company and its owners as they say one thing and do another.

Ashley, Katrina and Robin would have to be the most compassionate people I have ever com across. Ashley was available at all times even when I accidentally called him at 4:00 Am. He took the time to talk to me and help me through a very dark time in my life. Compassion, warmth and friendliness is what makes this company a success. So far Ashley and his team have helped us out with our stillborn angel Joseph, our both of grandparents my brother and an uncle.

Amazing people Ashley, Robin and Katrina handled my Granddads funeral with the utmost compassion and care for Granddad and our family.
Furthermore, their after care was more than we ever expected.

This company is run by a person who lacks integrity and professionalism. Ashley Bergh has intervened in a family’s personal grief to cause unimaginable pain in a devastating time. He does not abide his role as a funeral director and avoids accountability by not subscribing to industry standards. Please do not use his company to manage the care of your loved one. He lacks compassion and empathy and will stoop to the lowest levels if criticised.

I cant say enough about how professional and caring this company was. Ashley and Katrina made the whole process so simple and accommodating. They came to our house and we choose everything from the coffin to the floral arrangements simply by choosing what we wanted with no pressure at all in the comfort of our own home. All our questions were answered honestly and openly. We were never pressured into getting something we could not afford. They gave us honest advice and never tried to upsell us at all. The day of the funeral they were caring and there for us at all times. The day went off without a hitch. This company is professional and is family run and they really do care. I highly recommend this company.
