Each time I come back for a checkup, it's a nice friendly welcome as they recognise me. The checkup itself is quick and painless and it seems that the optomotrist knows what he's doing as he continues writing in the notes and using all the equipment he has in the room.
Of course, mine is a specialised program, so I don't need to buy anything further or change anything over. But when I do need new contacts, they they're quick and they'll always let me know when they're in.

It started out good, but over time got disillusioned. I have the new soft lenses which they told me to replace every 2 weeks. However the manufacturers web site says to replace every 4 weeks - double the life, half the cost. When I asked about this, they said Australian standards are different. I checked this, and it's a lie. They are simply profiteering.
Then I got new graduated glasses. Very expensive as they told me that frameless means they need to use polycarbonate for the lenses which cost more. Guess what? All lenses are polycarbonate! It's just another rip off!

And these expensive glasses don't work for me - not as good as my old ones - and I just get told "put up with it, you will eventually get used to it.

So, as you can see, I am deeply disappointed with the service and rip off pricing.

My optometrist here is Dr Renee Malingre.
He's great with his vocation. Uses some of the old school techniques in complement to many of the new tech gadgets. I subscribed here to a special contact lens called Ortho-K. He was good with his service and got me what I needed quickly. They took the time to show me what to do and how to care for the contacts. The other staff there are very friendly and willing to help in all ways possible. They'll let you know for sure every discount available to you and any government concessions.

My glasses broke and they were able to fit me in almost right away for an appointment. All the reception staff are very nice and the Dr's are excellent. They also helped me save money with my contact lenses.
