Around the beginning of January I told my mum that I was thinking of giving learning an instrument another shot- prior to this, I had been taught the piano for 3 years but never really found it interesting or fun. After learning the very basics of drums at school, I realized how enjoyable the instrument was and by coincidence received a leaflet in the mail advertising ADR School of Drums and Guitar a few days later. I decided to give it a go, especially since at the time there was a great deal for having the first lesson 1/2 price.

I was not disappointed- Andrew is a patient, dependable and very creative teacher who provides an enjoyable way of teaching the drums to his students (and I can't imagine that it's any different for his guitar students). He forms his lessons based on songs you listen to so that you can have fun playing along to music you actually like (something I didn't get to do in piano) while gradually teaching you various techniques that develop and strengthen the range of music you're able to play. I appreciate that he doesn't teach out of a conventional music workbook and instead takes the time to listen to the songs you ask to be able to learn and creates drum music based off what he hears, while at the same time altering it to suit your level of skill and experience. After a lesson, if you have struggled with a particularly difficult beat he is even willing to (very promptly) send music files via email covering the days lesson!

I'm very glad that I am able to be taught by such a kind, passionate and knowledgeable teacher. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to go to, or send their child to, an enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience. Thanks to him, practicing an instrument is no longer a chore to me, but a fun and exciting hobby.

My child has experienced learning from Andrew. A great teacher, one on one with the child. Very happy with his knowledge, patience and reliability with his students. Keep up the good work, my son loves and looks forward to seeing you.

My younger brother did drum lessons with Andrew and I have to say he was great. He's not a text book teacher but one that you can tell has learnt through his passion for music, and even though my brother doesn't have his own drum kit at home he even taught him different exercises he can do at home to practice until he gets his own. We're thinking of an electronic kit as the volume won't be much of an issue then.
Andrew (the teacher) does both drum and guitar lessons - my brother did drum lessons, but I happened to see Andrew in action teaching guitar also and his knowledge shined through there as well.

A confident and dedicated teacher offering a great service. I believe he even offers a mobile service as well which might be worth asking about.

Well worth a look at the site and a phone call if you're interested. Highly recommended in my books.

Pricing details are on the site, from my experience the pricing is very reasonable from the research I have done.
