First class dining, with a good mix of the new and old. Creative but not too edgy. I liked the range of meat, vegetable and sweet options. It was great to be able to go to a upper class dining restaurant and have a number of interesting and real vegetarian/vegan options to choose from.

My husband and I visited Albert st Food & Wine for lunch today. The main purpose was actually to try their famous lemon tart and if we were lucky we thought we might try their really well known snickers dessert if it was available (special menu not always available). It was a full house when we came in (without booking) but they managed to find us a spot for two. We ordered a steak tartare, spaghettini with prawns and corns, and special menu pizza with pesto and ham. And of course, the Meyer Lemon tart and luckily they had Snickers today. Yay! Mission accomplished. The steak tartare was delicious (came with raw egg yolk and crunchy bread on top). But it wasn't that delicious either to make me want to come back here again. The pizza was better than expected. It was thin, light and airy. They garnished them with mint leaves so it was fragrant. The Spaghettini was pretty good. The spaghetti itself didn't have much taste but the prawns and the corns that came with the spaghetti tasted really good. The lemon tart was very well made. You can really taste the lemon. The crust itself was good but nothing special. It was the curd that was the highlight of the day. Very soft like pudding it melted in your mouth. The taste of the lemon and the sweetness was very well rounded. Very mellow and soft. Overall a very comforting feeling. A bit on the pricey side though; $16 per slice. The Snickers taste like snickers bars but better. My husband really enjoyed the snickers. He told me it reminded him of his childhood. I think Albert St Food & Wine is a great place to visit but although you can enjoy some good food here, it's really the desserts that you really want to come here for. Service is good as well. All the staff are very attentive and courteous.
