My daughter attends the baby love music fun program in Albert Park delivered by Mel. She loves it so much and has grown from shy and cautious to a budding little musician/dancer all in one class term. The class delivered is very entertaining and so were the music and selection of songs. Mel is a professional singer so the quality is there. We have attended 2 concerts as well and had fantastic time. I highly recommend this program if you are looking for activities for your little ones.
Habitots is a child friendly cafe/baby and kids retail shops/baby and kids activities all in one place. It's a great place to hang out if you need a cup of coffee with your little ones. The cafe is located at the back of the store in an open space (they have cubby house and sandpit and toys for kids to play with while you sit and enjoy your coffee). They also have great selection of products in their retail store. But the ones I love the most are the activities for the little ones they offer.
They have music, art and yoga classes that can keep your little ones entertained. Classes are available on term basis or casual basis depending on the availability. Some classes are very popular so may be hard to get a spot on the day. My little one enjoys the cruiser music class so much and I recently took a video of her dancing and playing the musical instrument. She has made so much progress with the music I'm very pleased. Her daddy is into playing musical instruments so he is very happy to see her share the same enthusiasm with music. Mel from Baby Love Music Fun (Richmond) is the one delivering the music class. She is fantastic. It's great that she is doing this in Albert Park as well because it's so much closer to our home.
Habitots also offer great art classes for kids and it's great if you don't want them to mess up the house.
Fantastic products and service with great value. If you are looking for all natural products that actually work then you need to try moogoo. I originally tried this due to dermatitis on my hand. Having dermatitis on my right hand was a nightmare. It happened 2 years ago due to frequent washing and exposure to harsh chemicals. Even after using prescription ointments, my hand still not back to normal and after having a baby, my hand's condition turned worse due to frequent cleaning. My hand will turn super itchy, and the skin peeled and bleed.
Anyway, I started researching about what to do with it. I changed everything that may come in contact with my hand to Moogoo such as shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, face wash, body lotion, moisturizer etc. I made sure that none contains essential oils (most Moogoo doesn't contain essential oils) because I found that essentials oils cause reaction on my dermatitis. I made sure to use gloves while doing kitchen work, and also when doing housework including folding laundry. I tried to minimise friction on my hand and heat (enemies of dermatitis).
During itchy spell, I applied moogoo eczema cream and msm cream and then I used ice pack (covered with cloth so hand won't get wet). I applied the eczema cream and msm cream every hour or so and every time right after I washed my hand (dermatitis caused my hand to turn super dry like Sahara desert).
This I did for about 2 months and my hand is now 95% back to normal. The skin still a little thinner than my normal hand but with time, I'm confident this will be cured. I no longer apply eczema cream unless I have itchy spell. I still use msm cream on my hands but not as often as before. Very happy with these products.
Anyway, my favourites Moogoo are: MSM cream (for hand and night moisturizer), Eczema cream, Full cream (for body), Skin milk cream (for day cream), Super Vit C serum (It's for eyes but I actually use this on my face mixed with either msm cream or skin milk cream). I also in love with their Goats Milk Soap (great for body and hand soap and for washing makeup off). I use their Milky wash for washing face when I'm not wearing makeup and I transfer these to smaller container to bring to public washrooms. I can't use public soap because I don't want my dermatitis to come back.
My husband loves the Scalp cream. He doesn't use it for scalp but for face. He has super dry skin near eyes and nothing works to cure it. At first I didn't buy the scalp cream. I got it as a sample but it has essential oil so I can't use it so I told my husband he can use it for his face and see if it will work on his dry skin around the eyes and it works! So both of us are very happy with our skin now. Thanks Moogoo :)
Fantastic hair cut by Jane. I recently had my hair cut there from long hair to short. My first time there and was very happy with the cut. Very few hairdressers can give me a nice hair cut due to my wavy hair and even fewer who can give me a nice short hair cut (the reason I haven't had short hair for many years). Lots of compliments from friends and family. I love how easy it is to dry and style short hair. Fantastic products too. Thanks Jane.
I went to Judith for a dress for my brother's wedding. I was not disappointed. Her work was meticulous and the final product was really beautiful and fitted perfectly. She also made a matching tie and handkerchief for my husband with the leftover silk fabrics. The price was reasonable and good value for real dress with boning. Some dressmakers would charge more for less quality but not Judith. Whether or not you have an idea for a dress, I'm confident Judith would be able to help you. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a quality dressmaker/couturier.
Ceasar is a fantastic hair doctor and stylist who is very dedicated to ensure each and every one of his customer's satisfaction. Other hairdressers usually deal with time constraint ie. you sit and they'll quickly do your hair and have it all done in less than an hour, or worse, half an hour. So there is not much time for them to deal with problems you may have with your hair. Ceasar will spend time with you to make sure that whatever problems you have with your hair are dealt with and he is very dedicated in giving health back to your hair. I haven't lost as much hair now that I started going to Cez. I have naturally wavy hair and he always give me hair cuts that look good without having to straighten my hair. If you are coming to Cez, make sure you have ample of time to spare since he always make sure that all problems are addressed. For a hair cut, you'll get a very thorough consultation of your hair condition, bone structure, face shapes, hair grooming habits, hair treatment that will make your hair looks sooo healthy and glossy, the actual hair cut, and the styling tips. Thanks Cez and Selvi.
Approximate cost: $85 for cut
Edit: They no longer have stockists except for one I believe. Now I have to go to the Croissanterie itself to buy the croissants. They now open Fri-Sun morning until sold out (very very fast). I have to queue like half an hour before opening and sometimes by then they already have a very long queue. They put limits on how many croissants you can buy. That's how popular they are. Haven't been there since baby is born. I think I'm due for a visit. Wait for me Cruffin! Oh, I heard they are moving to Fitzroy soon.
Lune Croissanterrie is a supplier for croissants. If you want to try this croissant, you need to go the stockists since I heard that the baker only sell to public on Saturday occasionally. I believe they supply to 6 cafes across Melbourne. I went to try the one nearby my home in South Melbourne. Definitely the best I found in Melbourne. The croissant has a beautiful shine to it, fresh, soft, fragrant and simply delicious. Will definitely be back to get some more. I believe they also stock some near my work area so I might go there earlier before work to try more. Hopefully the one near work supply other types of croissants for me to try.
Edit: No longer sell croissants from Lune :( If I want croissants now I have to queue for an hour at Lune on weekend.
A very tiny cafe in South Melbourne but very busy and be prepared to queue. Went to visit this cafe because I wanted to try croissant from Lune Croissanterie. When I got there, the croissant was just delivered so it was fresh and delicious. Definitely the best one I found so far in Melbourne. Tasted similar to croissants I ate in France (but bigger). The croissant is beautiful and has a shine to it, smell of beautiful fragrant butter and not dry at all like others I've tried in Melbourne. Definitely will be back for more croissant. The coffee is very good as well, definitely one of the better ones in Melbourne. I have to admit though, I prefer the one from Cottle coffee nearby but everyone has different preference for coffee flavour.
We went to try the all you can eat yum cha today (Sunday) for the 1.30 - 3 pm session. It's $35 per head not including drinks. Waiters will bring selections of food for you to choose. Overall, the food was pretty good but the taste is different from traditional Chinese yum cha that you get from traditional Chinese restaurant. I believe this is more catered for Australian taste. The tea they use is good quality one. The decor is nice as well. Cons: it's the first yum cha I've been that offers no shu mai (they have them on a la carte menu) and no mango pudding.
Bought some skincare and some household goods from them before. Fast shipping and easy returns as well. A great website if you are looking for eco friendly products. Highly recommend Etc products and lifefactory water bottles (glass bottle makes water taste nicer - the only con is it's breakable).
