Husband admitted friday night to ED with broken hip, staff were fantastic, was with him yesterday sat still in ED one guy at front deck as I trying to get back in bit rude, later nurse ( Alice) looking after husband b4 we went to ward was not wanting what u need in a nurse never spoke or really looked at me felt like we were nothing went with us to ward, turned and left without saying goodbye no eye contact, dissapionted felt like we were an inconvenience to her.

Last week I was admitted to the ER Dept after work with acute gastritis and underlying conditions. I waited for a while before I was attended by the nurses and doctors. They were efficient and took the matters seriously when I told them I had the same re-occurring problem every month. Straight away they took blood tests, urine test, X-rays, ultrasound and continuous monitoring throughout the night till the next morning at the short stay unit. Hospital is well maintained, clean and staffs were efficient & professional.

As a public hospital in the city, I am impressed with it. I recommend people to use Alfred Hospital if you are in urgent need of medical attention.

massive hospital, more professional looking compared to most hospitals that i've been too, doctors & nurses are quite good and their cafe is absolutely lovely as well

their wards are also kept neat and tidy, and the atmosphere is a bit more serious

This year I have had to visit the Alfred several times, once by ambulance, and also visits for tests and procedures. I am extremely happy with the professional care of all staff, and feel very fortunate that in Mebourne we have such a highly regarded world standard public hospital. Be appreciative of our hospitals and health care, not many countries are so lucky. Maurie

I was in the Alfred twice last year - once for a serious accident via ambulance / emergency room and for cancer. Staff's professionalism, care and compassion was superior - I could not ask for better. I confidently continue to use Alfred for my health care needs - excellent.

Our son split his head open rather badly (riding a bike without a helmet!) and needed emergency care. We raced him to the Alfred and they were absolutely amazing - taking him straight in and fixing him up. Kitted up with scripts, bandages, and a much better son we left feeling very pleased with the service and care. That did not wane when I had reason to visit them a few months later myself.
