Great, traditional Italian "trattoria-style" restaurant - it has all the traditional authentic Italian dishes; friendly, amusing staff; and classic Italian décor throughout the dining room. Has been here for years and is a stayer.

I had to wait abnormally long to get my food put other than that it was a all around great restaurant

Amiconi has been here for ever and you sort of forget to go there. Went last week and it was packed (book!) - the waiters are great - doing their job with a bit of dash! The food is just as good as I remember, lovely home style Italian food. It's very lively in the evenings so try to get into the swing of things and enjoy.

One of the best Italian eateries around. At first you consider this a hidden gem just around the corner from Errol St in West Melbourne. Then you realise that the place is packed to the rafters with very happy eaters, that have been visiting Amiconi for years and the staff know many on a first name basis.
The menu is extensive and broken down into the old fashioned provincial Italian style. You can go a la carte style or order one of two banquet style meals. The banquet meals are great if you have four or more in your group. They inculde bruschetta, vegetarian , starters, seafood, pastas, desserts and coffee. HUge portions are the order of the day yet the quality is just amazingly good
I would recommend the famous calamari, chicken livers, spatchcok, mussells and Italian profiteroles for dessert.
I just hope everyone enjoys as I did. I highly recommend to lovers of Italian food

Approximate cost: $22

One of the oldest Italian restaurants in Melbourne. Serves excellent food... seafood dishes are highly recommended although the other dishes are very well cooked as well. The food is cooked in the traditional Italian way, and the wait staff are generally attentive to your needs.
Bookings recommended as they do get pretty busy especially on Friday and Saturday nights

Approximate cost: $20.00

It is not usual for us to move out of our area for Restaurants, but since being introduced to this, we seem to find an excuse to take others to enjoy this beautiful Cucina Italiana di Qualita. Can be a little expensive depending on the choices and how many courses etc., then again just as beautiful to share a trio pasta with wine and feel very happy with the experience and cost.

We attended this restaurant as a group of 6 on a Wednesday night. It was very busy, the restaurant being full most of the time we were there with people waiting outside.

The food was delicious and of a high standard. The entrees and seafood were pretty good, the pasta and risottos were superb. The food was rich and generous and certainly had the home made taste/ feel about it. We did not have room for desserts but they looked fantastic as they were coming out.

The service was pleasant, obliging and were there when you went looking for them, particularly given it was so busy.

The décor was homely, intimate and comfortable. It was nice to see all the old photos of where the restaurant has grown from. Given it was on the small side it was not overly noisy.

BYO wine only.

Approximate cost: $20-30
