Great after hours help when your worried about your pet. What it costs is not unreasonable.
Great staff and vets. Remember if it takes a while to get in another pet worse off will go in front!

We had to bring our dog to AEC one New Year's eve afternoon as he suffered from mysterious bite in the backyard which made him look like he was dying. We were attended to in a timely manner and the vet checked him thoroughly and assured us that it wasn't a snakebite. He treated our dog and explained that it was mostly likely a dramatic reaction to a bee sting! Overall, the service was professional and they provided details back to our regular vet which was helpful.

I was greeted by caring and compassionate staff as I brought my elderly girl in at 1am suffering what may have been a stroke. Shortly after I spoke to a competent vet who gave me a diagnosis . Insurance forms were filled out and then staff carried my girl back to my car. I would highly recommend them.

We were so impressed with the compassionate and professional service offered by all staff from reception to veterinary when our mischievous British Shorthair 9 month old kitten"Mrs Darcy" injested 15cm of satin ribbon . The result was the successful emittance of the offending material and much relief to us. The emailed report later was a bonus . Excellent care.

My dog was recovering from a knee reconstruction at another vet when he started coughing up a bit of blood 2 weeks later. The vet recommended this surgery due to it being late in the day and they were very responsive and professional. The diagnosis was stomach ulcers due to some of the post operative meds, and we now have a treatment plan and an option to come back in 2 days if there isn't sufficient improvement. I highly recommend this centre.

Approximate cost: $335.

I ended up here 1 night after my staffy bruce got into over 1kg of choclates and he was sick. As this is an emergency clinic they took Bruce out the back as soon as we got there. I dont think they let people come in with there pet so we waited in the waiting room but they fixed him up and came out to let us know bruce was alright quite frequently so we were not left waiting and wondering. Its a bit pricey but the only option for an after hours pet emergency. We also took a rabbit here one night we found in a bad way and they took the rabbit, and will also take in injured wildlife and other found pets after hours when the rspca is closed. Its a great service.

My elderly dog ended up here when she fell ill one Sunday evening. She was later diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis. The things I don't like about this hospital, are kind of inherent in its very function - they only deal with emergencies and very sick dogs/intensive care, so they don't have the time or relationships that you get at your usual Vet clinic. My dog was there for about 4 days and this cost many thousands of dollars. They are VERY insistent that you pay upfront, VERY pragmatic about offering euthanasia and not so keen on you visiting your pet for more than a short time each day. But that's because of the type of work that they do! If your Pet is seriously sick or injured after hours, this is the ONLY place for them! They are open 24/7 and are all set up ready to go (unlike an on-call Vet). But my advice is to strongly consider Pet Insurance BEFORE you find you need it (or put a few thousand dollars into a high-interest bank account) so that you can focus on your pet and not the cost, and to try and get your Pet transferred back to your usual Vet hospital as soon as he or she is stable. The bill for the subsequent 4 days at our regular Vet was under $1000 and we were encouraged to visit as much as possible... But I guess it depends how good your usual Vet is....

I forgot to add one thing: they are willing to take injured wildlife after hours, so if you come across an injured possum & the RSPCA is closed, this is a good alternative!

Its about 1:35 and we just got home from the Animal Emergency Centre. Our Pug had some kind of allergic reaction or insect bite. They are close by, attended to Toby as fast as they could and went to a lot of effort to give us general advice. The bill was a little steep at over $200 but at this time there isn't a lot of options. Get insurance!

Approximate cost: $200

Our dog suffered very serious complications from a surgery performed at a different vetrinary clinic, that did not present until late at night. The centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and when we rushed their we were attended to by a very friendly, professional and helpful vet straight away. They looked after us and were realistic about his diagnosis, they didn't give us false hope but they were very caring. We had to leave our dog their overnight and we were personally called by the vet to update us on our dog's condition. Thankfully our dog is now fine, no doubt to the wonderful vets at this centre who saved his life. The vets and nurses even sat with our dog while they ate their breakfast so he wouldn't be lonely!

Approximate cost: $Varies according to treatment
