Until now I have been happy with Ansvar both as someone insuring my home and vehicle and as a claimant against someone else in a traffic crash. However, the insurance company has switched to being merely an agent of Allianz, therefore I will be paying them a fee, as an agent, as well as the basic insurance fees, which is the thing I avoided by dealing directly with Ansvar as my insurer in the first place some years ago. I am seriously unimpressed and now looking for another insurer- which is really a pain because I am a busy person without the spare time. When people complain that insurance costs a lot have a look at what you are paying: not just the insurance fee but the tax, the tax on tax, and the agent, who does what exactly that you cannot do yourself?
