Delightful place and atmosphere, creating a fabulous experience. Very natural pictures that captured my the essence of my children's personalities telling a story of their magical adventure.

We have two very energetic, but we'll behaved puppies and I was excited and nervous about our photo shoot.... I couldn't wait to do it but worried that our pups may get bored...Well we had a great morning navigating through Grants props and watching their expressions. Grant was great capturing the most amazing expressions and he was really good with our dogs. My husband and I were 100 percent happy with the service... and when we saw the photos... blown away. the photos really captured who our beautiful babies are. Thank you so much Grant and all the lovely staff at Appealing Images..

I won a voucher for photos up to $350, this included sitting fee also which they think is worth $190 alone. I took my children all aged under 7 to get a group shot done of them. Within the first 10 mins it was already a unpleasant experience. The lady who showed us into waiting room told my son he it was ok to play in the toy car (prop). When the photographer came to talk to us he could not concentrate because of my son playing in the car he was told to play in. The photographer wanted to chat about what sort of photos I was expecting for the first half an hour!? A bit stressful when he was worried about the kids playing/talking.
I feel the process was not needed and time consuming. His EGO was huge and I found it hard to warm to him when all he did was talk about how good he is and how much money he makes. He then proceeded to tell me a story about how he does not assume how much his customers want to spend by relating to a story of when he went to buy his motorhome dressed in shorts and joggers they assumed that he was there only to buy one of those "pop up type caravans not a motorhome", 10mins later he assumed that my backyard was colour bond fences and not as great as his million dollar movie set backyard?!
Frankly there was too many rules and I felt uncomfortable being there. I could not take my handbag into backyard so had to leave unattended on his verandah, went to give daughter something to eat and he told me that she did not need anything to eat were just a few of his rules. He also wanted me to sign paperwork agreement (lots of paperwork) which in part stated that when I return to view photos I should NOT bring children back with me. I understand that would be so parents can concentrate on spending money but when I mentioned that I would have to at least bring one child back with me he said "Thats a shame, most people can leave them with the grandparents" After he spent 10 mins telling me how he does not judge a book by its cover he assumed that my children are lucky enough to have grandparents still alive. Frankly in the end I went back to view but was happy enough to pick out the cheapest print which was $240 (smaller then A4) and leave. To get this print you will have to make a 3rd trip back to pick up or get it sent and pay the freight cost.

Thank you for taking the time to review our services. I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t find the experience a positive one. We definitely do spend time with our clients discussing their preferences before we commence the actual photos shoot. We tailor each session to suit the requirements of that individual client.
In regards to the handbag we do suggest not taking valuables into the garden as there are several water features, 60cm high grass and a huge amount of foliage. If you were to drop something & not realise then it would be very difficult to locate.
We are more than happy to welcome children at all stages of our engagement with clients & in fact our projection room is equipped with a dedicated toy box & DVD with headphones to keep little ones occupied. Some children may find the dark room and confined environment restrictive though so some parents choose not to bring those children with them.
Regarding the price, I think you'll find that our prices are competitive with other similar calibre portrait photographers in the area.

I won a voucher to this photographer and attended the shoot. I specifically wanted at least one (if not more) nice portraits of my dog and was willing to pay the price for the prints on top of the voucher value. However in the end I decided not to follow through with the purchase process for the reasons noted below.

First of all, there were some pros:
- The support staff are excellent, very patient and diligent making/following up appointments (and with many travel and business commitments it was quite difficult for me to lock down times for appointments, so I appreciate that even more). Politeness and service from the staff was great.
- The setting is lovely, and if you want the garden/country look its certainly a unique place to have shots done
- The portfolio I saw had some excellent shots, the quality of the work itself seems to be of a high standard and the canvas prints/framing are also high quality
- I like that family portraits can include pets, that's a big plus in my book

Neither pros nor cons but things to note:
- This business is 'by referral only' and has a convoluted process of gift cards and paperwork to make an appointment. It seemed a little over the top and a bit of a strange way to process clients, but that's just the way they do things.
- There is no digital anything with these guys. There is no online previews of your photos, and you can't purchase the files (though to be fair they did mention they might do that in the future... for a fee of course). That doesn't bother some people, personally I like to have digital copies or at least be able to browse thumbnails of the photos ahead of a 'purchasing' appointment.
- I wouldn't call their style particularly modern, but it really depends on your tastes and the look you're going for

The cons:
- A pet photographer that openly tells me he doesn't like dogs?? Really not my cup of tea and not a great way to start a shoot.
- I wasn't 'allowed' to use treats to get my dog to focus and there was little interaction with the dog from the photographer, either of which I think would have made the the whole thing far more pleasant for me and my dog.
- Despite an unnecessarily lengthy consultation beforehand, the shoot itself still felt quite impersonal, like they're just churning out standard shots with different people/dogs in them.
- EGO. I deal with creative people in my work every day (including many photographers), but wow the ego and attitude going on here actually made me very uncomfortable. I get it, you have a successful business. You're booked out all the time. You're making hundreds of thousands of dollars. None of that has anything to do with my dog being photographed and frankly it just makes me feel like you're overcharging. It really rubbed me the wrong way and made the whole shoot quite unpleasant.
- Speaking of overcharging: incredibly overpriced prints. I'm willing to pay for quality work but in this day and age of digital photography, hundreds of dollars per (unframed, unmounted) print is just not on.

I was excited to have these portraits done, but I came away feeling like there was no engagement with me or my dog which was very disappointing. I don't feel like my dog's personality was captured or that my requests for simple shots were heard. I could see there were many lovely portraits there in the studio, so there is obviously many happy customers of this business, but I was not one of them.

If you want nice family portraits in a lovely setting and you live close to Blacktown, these guys are what you're looking for (...if you can get around the referral requirement for an appointment and you can afford the prints).

If you want someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals and wants to bring out the best in your pet for their portraits, I think there are far better, more reasonably priced pet photographers out there.

Thank you for your feedback. I totally appreciate all of the wonderful things you mentioned about our customer service staff and our beautiful garden. We are in the business of producing amazing memories for our clients & we constantly hear that photos are still the most precious things that people would be grabbing in an emergency. In light of this we make prints & canvases and other tangible products and not digital versions. In regards to the session perhaps there was a personality clash between yourself and the photographer on this day. It is a real shame you didn't return to the Studio to see the fantastic shots which we created for you. When photographing pets it takes great skill to capture isolated moments of beauty in between crazy periods of perceived chaos. Should you reconsider we would be happy to provide a replacement voucher to reshoot your portrait.

I loved our session with grant just wonderful photos, nothing more could i ask of the images Grant cam up with. The price was the big downer here the cheapest size available starts at $400 so if you are in the market to spend that kind of money definetly recommend and for those that think there is no way to afford these prices they are more than happy to offer a payment plan even if it take you years to pay it off

Thank you so much for your feedback. We're so pleased that you loved your images. In regards to pricing I believe our prices are competitive with similar studios. Images do start at just $240 & our payment plan option is very popular.
