The Ashgrove Farm Cheese store is set in gorgeous surroundings but then everywhere in Tasmania is beautiful. The entryway is lined with bright painted cows some with interesting facts (the statisticow was a favorite with our group of math nerds)

Inside is what you'd expect from a cheese and local produce store. There are tasting platters aplenty with their cheese taking center stage.

They mostly had hard cheeses, chedder blends with interesting flavours. I especially liked their pepper cheese and wasabi cheese. Their soft blue cheese was alright but I didn't feel a deep compulsion to buy it. We did get the pepper cheese for our roadtrip picnic.

A nice place to visit and we'd definitely stop by there again next time we're driving through.

If you love cheese you will love stopping here and tasting the free samples. This place also stocks wonderful local produce for you to take home. They sell cheese bags that have built in cooler sacks to keep the cheese cold while you drive. Very clever and came in super handy for us!

Approximate cost: $6

Located in a beautiful part of North Tassie, the Ashgrove Cheese Farm with all types of yummy cheeses to take with you which is great if you're staying in the area. Grab some local wines and you're all set for a great night.

I love stopping in here to do the taste tests. The sample packs are great value and they sell the cheese very cheap at the factory so well worth the visit. The cheese making display is fascinating and educational displays good. Ashgrove is so good because they use non-animal rennent in their cheese so is suitable for vegetarians.

Ashgrove makes the yummiest cheese. My favorite is the wasabi cheese, which is alot nicer than you'd think. The wasabi and the cheese is an excellent and insired combination, and a great addition to any cheese platter.
