I ordered a digital micrometer after speaking to Asset Plant & Machinery by phone. Postage cost was good. It arrived 25min out from Gladstone Qld. inside 24hours. That is amazing even for express post. The digital read out is very easy to read. Set to the supplied check bar, wound out completely then back to check bar, the read out showed 0 difference.. to start with. The more I handled it the difference grew. So I suggest; 1. open case and allow micrometer to reach ambient temperature before doing the preset.
2. then, hold & handle it as little as possible while using it.
It has a number of functions and can be downloaded to a computer. However at 63 yo I am mostly interested in being able to read it. Martin Falls
