What a pleasure to have dealt with such a professional outfit.
We were in desperate need to create an outdoor living area, mainly just to improve our quality of life. We had some idea of what we wanted but weren't completely sure of what we would of be able to do with the area we had.
We knew the pergola was going to be the main structure and we wanted it done right!
Out of the 3 quotes we received, one stood out. Chris from Aussie outdoor living....
Quite a few reasons they stood out and they are as follows.
1. He showed up for the quote exactly when he said he would. Not too common these days.
2. But not only did we receive a quote, we received a detailed insight on material choices and the pros and cons of each choice, we received multiple roofing structure options as well as suggestions from his own experience on what would work best for us and the reasons why. He even gave us his own opinion/vision on the entire area which was great as we weren't completely there with the whole plan. It gave us some ideas and things we hadn't thought of. We could tell he was very passionate about what he does and it was quite refreshing to see.
3. Once the choice was made he gave us a timeline as well as a very detailed structure of how everything worked, what was to be done and what materials and colours were going to be used. No hidden fine print.
4. Every step was followed to a tee! They even took care of organising the building drawing plans and all council applications forms.
5. Communication was top notch through the entire process. The materials were delivered on time and work commenced without delay.
6. The boys showed up and were very professional in their approach. They were polite and took no shortcuts. Every aspect of the build was followed exactly to specification and done very professionally. Quality of work was exceptional. Once the pergola was completed, they did a final inspection as part of their process, and to my surprise they even made some small improvements that weren't necessary or noticed by me. Very happy with that! Not too many companies would take extra time out to do such things.

To sum up, the final product is so much more than we could of hoped for. It fits in perfectly with our house and is now the envy of all our friends. I am so glad I chose to deal with Aussie outdoor living, such a stress free and smooth experience.
We would definately recommend these guys to anyone who wants a quality outdoor living area. They have the know how, experience and great customer focus.

Many thanks to Chris and his team for creating a superb new living area for our home. We've used it almost everyday since it was finished.

Following the initial meeting I was impressed with their vision for what could be created and the quality of their product samples. The quote was also very detailed and gave me confidence that they had understood some of the complications specific to our project and had listened to what I had said.

During the project they always turned up on time and kept me informed of how the various stages were progressing especially in terms of handling all of the council approval paperwork.

Whilst it's certainly possible to get pergolas built for a lower cost, make sure you check the specifications because I found Aussie Outdoor to be of a higher quality in terms of the materials used (aluminium frames) and also there were no hidden extras.

It was time to replace our existing pergola. Built in the 1990's it was constructed with heavy timber beams with a mainly metal roof and brick piers from ground level supporting the roof beams. It was low, heavy, hot in summer and did not allow enough light through.
We had a few other builders to quote and we had Chris Riley. Chris listened to our needs and then came up with his suggestions. There was no hard sell just practical discussions on how we could achieve our aims. From this initial meeting Chris came back to us with the design and quote within a few days. We had already decided that if the design and quote met our expectations Aussie Outdoor Living would be our builder. It was obvious that with Chris leading the team this would be a company that we could comfortably work with. We were proved correct with our observation.
As part of our decision making we visited their showroom which is very well presented. This allowed us to understand the materials that would be used and view the final product in their displays.
Chris's design included removing the top section of our brick piers leaving only 1 metre from ground, capping with sandstone and then using twin 90mm black support posts from pier to beam. This, he said, would open up our garden. Brilliant! No other builder suggested this solution. Chris and his team think outside the square.
During construction Matt and the team were very professional, courteous, neat, tidy and respectful of our property. We were kept informed of the progress at all stages. The attention to detail during construction was amazing with the only object being an excellent finished product.
From the time of signing the contract until construction start, Sydney was hit with a great deal of wet weather. We appreciated that this would delay our job. Were we left wondering? No. Aussie Outdoor were on the front foot advising us of their dilemma and setting a new start date. Very professional.
We are delighted with the finished product. We now have a light and bright outdoor entertaining area which we are sure will give us many years of pleasure. Thanks Chris and the team at Aussie Outdoor Living.

Our experience with Aussie Outdoor Living replacing our existing pergola has been nothing short of excellent. From the time of getting the quote from Chris and giving him the go ahead for the job he and his team have met every promise/deadline made in carrying out the work. We just had an awning completed out the front and we were absolutely thrilled with the job that the guys from Aussie Outdoor did. It turned out exactly as we had hoped and the awning blends in to the house perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend Aussie Outdoor to anyone and we will definitely be contacting them when we start work out the back!

The success of most building enhancement or renovation projects is dependent on realistic customer expectations relevant to what they can afford in a given period of time. Also if you go cheap, you will get what you've paid for and end up being unhappy.
Six months ago Delysia and I embarked on our home improvement by deciding to add a deck and awning to our home. We phoned three builders who specialise in decks and awnings and then waited. The first provider wanted to do the quote and assessment remotely, the other provider was too busy and said he would get back to us in a few days.
And then there was Chris Riley of Aussie Outdoor Living who we phoned, spoke to and within less than two hours was at our front door, very well presented, completely kitted out with an impressive heavy duty carrying case which contained a variety of building sample products.
Chris listened intently as we spoke, made notes, wandered outside our property, visualised what was possible and then carefully articulated how it would be achieved. It sounded wonderful, everything that we dreamt of and more; the biggest selling point was the aluminium deck that resembled a wooden deck! This was remarkable, no protruding nails or screws, no deck staining or on-going maintenance. While we loved all of this, all we could think of was “How much is this going to cost? We resisted talking about cost because at that stage, the project was still under consideration.
We then visited Chris's showroom where we were able to touch and feel the products. The displays were neat and professionally presented. Throughout this phase, there was no hard sell approach from Chris. The ideas and products were presented for our consideration.
Within a few days we made a decision, contacted Chris and received a quote. We were satisfied with the quote and the cost breakdown based on what we requested. Work commenced within a few days, with building artisans arriving on site neatly attired and expertly applying their craft.
Generally builders seem to have a work code of their own, arriving late, leaving rubbish strewn around without cleaning up etc. These building professionals were different; they arrived on time, respected our property, they were polite, cleaned up afterwards and neatly packed their materials away before leaving. This approach really impressed us. The excellent quality of their work was a reflection of their attitude; good, enthusiastic with an amazing attention to detail. It's been a long time since we've seen building professionals work with such pride as a team.
The entire project, which included the drawing up of plans, council submission, DA approval etc. was expertly handled by Chris Riley and his colleagues. We were kept informed at every step of the project and did very little except arranging payments at the end of each scheduled phase.
We are entirely satisfied with the work that Chris and his team delivered. We had a few friends around who commented how well the deck and awning looked and how sturdy it was erected, aligning and conforming to current building standards without compromise.
We have no hesitation in recommending Chris and his team to any prospective client considering practical outdoor home improvements professionally built for the long term.
