My kids and I live going to Australia Zoo, we went last school holidays and try to go once a year. The zoo is very well run and very clean, the animals are all very well looked after and you will often find staff walking around with different animals and will tell you all about them. We all love the zoo and have been many times and always look forward to going

Great family fun but very expensive but it is for a good cause can't imagine all those animals would be cheap to feed the Irwin's put on a great show each time we went there.

We went to Australia Zoo 2 days ago. It was a wonderful experience that we all (including several teenagers) really enjoyed. We arrived at around 10am and didn't leave until almost 5pm. It was school holidays but the place is so huge there is plenty of room and you didn't feel crowded by people. Feeding the elephants (free) was amazing, th croc show was awesome (and I've actually seen heaps of other croc shows so I expected it to be a bit boring for me but it wasn't). The Irwin family are really doing an excellent job of carrying on Steve's legacy. The tiger show - oh my goodness it was awe inspiring and you can see them swimming through a clear tank - just beautiful. Africa was wonderful with their giraffes, zebras, rhinos, I had never seen any of these in real life before so it was just wonderful. The only downfall was the price of the food which was extremely expensive. Overall it was a wonderful experience I will never forget.

Had a real great experience with Australia Zoo. It's nice to learn a lot of new things about different animals there. The seal show was really fantastic and entertaining. First time to be kissed by a seal and fed an elephant. Really good for family especially with children. But the food for me is not the best. Next time I would prefer bringing my own food. It was a good experience!

Australia Zoo is an amazing place, and the croc show was so exciting and unbelieveable. I was lucky enough to go one day years ago (as my friend from New York was pestering me that she wanted to see the Crocodile Man), and could you believe our luck .. he was there. His wife & children are still doing a great job out there keeping his legacy alive. I got too close when feeding a goose (or something) and it snapped my face in its beak... lol ... that will teach me for getting so excited about the animals there.

I lived around the corner from Australia Zoo for a number of years and took the children there on several occasions. It was always an enjoyable day, however I haven't been there since Steve Irwin's death.

I took my brother here when he came from overseas for a holiday. I found it very expensive, but he enjoyed himself immensely. I wouldn't go back though because it's not something an average family can afford to do.

The best zoo i have ever been too!! I have done a lot of travelling over the years and been to a fair share of zoo's and this is by far the best. Really family orientated and great to go to with kids. A real hands on experience You get to feed the elephants for free. The show at the crocasium is spectacular and there are often lost of keepers with animals out of the enclosures like small reptiles etc for you to pat etc. Really clean, staff are sooo friendly and helpful. Magical say out!!

I love Australia Zoo, as locals, we often go with friends when they come up for a holiday and a visit. We last went out about six weeks ago. It is always a really good day out, I always take bottles of water and then buy lunch there, the food area is huge and has a nice atmosphere. I would suggest taking mosquito spraymif you are going in summer, as the area near the elephants gets pretty thick with them, I think the entry price is fairly reasonable, I cant remember the exact price though. Make sure you watch the croc show and feeding the elephants is good too. They have a lot of volunteers working there, and I have never had anything but good encounters with the staff, they are very helpful and always happy for a chat, there was a nice girl going around the zoo last time with a koala that you could pat and take photos of and she was happy to answer questions etc.

We have been many times, and I love the place and so do the kids. The elephants are amazing. I agree with the food prices and quality, so each time we take our own lunch, there is always a nice spot to find to eat and relax.

this zoo is great. well worth a trip to. expensive compared to other zoo's though. but can save some money by packing a nice pinic lunch, many nice places to set up a pinic. also the food from the food court are expensive as you would expect but also really lacking in quality nice food that you would hope your money would buy. would not buy food there again apart from perhaps hot chips...
new africa part open, so lots to do and see.

I think Australia Zoo is a must! Being prob the most famous zoo in Aussie land it's going to come at a price and it's not cheap once you add up getting in any photo's you get something to take home, food and drink. But is def a must do atleast once! The place is very clean and plenty to see and do...make sure you watch the croc show i love the first part with the macaws. There will be staff walking around will allsort of animals and you can get a free photo with them. It's down the sunshine coast so if ur staying at the goldcoast i think it's about an 1hr 30 give or take :)

we have only been 2 times even though we live within 10 mins! the biggest reason is the price, for a family of 5 of to go it costs us $300.00, not including food or drinks for the day. and when you have to line up for over 30mins to see something everytime its just not worth it!

We have been to Australia zoo four times, and as we are from South Australia we had to get around by public transport. We were on the train on the return journey from Robina on the Gold Coast heading for Brisbane when the news of Steve Irwin's death came through. This was just three days before we were due to go to the Zoo. Many people may think that Steve was a thorough idiot but what he has achieved at the zoo is a tremendous credit to him. The staff are constantly cleaning sweeping mowing raking etc so as hardly to leave a blade of grass out of place, a animal dropping hardly to be seen or a piece of paper blowing in the breeze. The staff are friendly, although three days after Steve's death the mood was sombre to say the least, and will allow visitors to touch and inter act with some of the animals. The show at the 'Crocoseum' is awe-inspiring and captivating. There is a great variety of healthy food at the food court at very reasonable prices. The entry fee is more than reasonable and well worth every cent. The souvenirs at the gift shop and around the grounds though are a little pricey. A word of warning - if you are contemplating travelling to the Zoo by public transport, you can get there reasonably easily but you need to be fully aware of what buses are available and their times of departure from the zoo to either Beerwah or Caboolture stations well before you wish to leave. All in all a great place to spend a days outing in I feel the best zoo in Australia - Adelaide has a fair way to go, Perth is almost there but Australia Zoo --- Magic.

A great place to take the family for a fantastic day out at Australia Zoo. The Crocodiles and other Australian Wildlife there are treated well and Australia Zoo and the late Steve Irwin are a household name. Bindi Irwin Steve and Terri Irwins daughter is doing a great job carrying on Steves work. Affordable for entertainment for a full day.

We thought the price to get into the zoo was a bit steep, however once we were in we understood why. This place was amazing and you could easily spend a whole day wandering around. The main show in the crocoseum was entertaining and fun and other displays were informative and fun. The food was way above expectations in the food court, including some really good healthy options - these actually outnumbered the naughty options. The prices for food and drinks within the zoo was not ridiculous and you can always bring your own if you want to save some money.
If you are going to visit I would recommend comfortable shoes as the zoo is on quite large grounds and you will be walking a long way. We especially liked the hands on approach to the animals, with lots of opportunities to touch and interact with the animals :)

The kids love it as well as the parents. The cost is moderate. You're able to feed the elephants which was pretty good. They have play areas for the kids when they just need a good run around or jump around. I love the fact you can walk through some of the animal yards and feed them. The choices of food are good with a bit of variety. You can spend the whole day there.

We recently visited Australia Zoo on a family holiday to the Gold and Sunshine Coast. I had been there a few years earlier and was glad to see that the great standard of the place and not dropped. Although it is a little costly, it was cheaper in comparison to other theme parks on the gold coast and as the money goes to looking after the animals I had no qualms with paying the entry fee. Every animal enclosure at the Zoo is spacious, the food the animals ate was fresh and the whole park was immaculate. You could not smell the familiar smell in animal parks of animal poo etc... They must clean the enclosures regularly as they are just fantastic and well worth a visit.

We had so much fun at Australia Zoo over Easter weekend. On arrival we were givin free muffins topped with easter eggs - staff were friendly and accommodating. The zoo grounds are absoultely stunning. Lush gardens and fantastic enclosures for all the animals. There are some great hands on experiences to be had like feeding the elephants, kangaroos and farm animals in the kids zoo like goats, sheep and pigs. Patting the farm animals and koalas was also a highlight. Heaps of food options in the food court and fairly resonably prices it seems considering there is nowhere else to get food they could certainly hike up the cost a lot more than they have. We were really fortunate to see Terri Iwin and Wes Mannion in the Crocoseum for the morning show. We felt overall this show was lacking something - but we were completely rained out on Easter Saturday and that may have had something to do with it. This really was a fun day out. The zoo it seems is undergoing a major 3-7 year plan to expand, so we look forward to returning in the future to see what's going on. Very impressive and enjoyable on all counts.
