I hired a car from Avis in Hong Kong - mainly to explore the outer regions and countryside of Hong Kong. I booked in a small Toyota hatchback online (which I had a discount using my Airline rewards program, as well as earning more reward points). Unfortunately the only Avis location was in Causeway Bay in Hong Kong Island and took me a while to find and get to the location. This was compensated by Staff who were very friendly and professional. They slowly explained the typical terms and conditions, and showed me my car. Return of the car was also a breeze. Would recommend Avis in Hong Kong

Everything went very well. I booked online and paid at the pickup. A GPS was provided (fee). On pick-up and drop-off, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Car rentals tend to be expensive but you know this going in. My only complaint was the very long walk to pick up the car. Had I had all my kids with me it would have been a problem. This is probably out of their control.
