Came in here for local maps etc and enjoyed a lovely chat with one of the gentlemen here. Lots of local knowledge and was only too please to help. The centre is located in a wonderful old building which shows the charm of yesteryear. So much to see and do in Ballarat.
Visited information centre for some information on a out of town tourist attraction, and the ladies there were most helpful in obtaining phone nos. addresses and any other infor. off their computer that I required. They certainly directed me in the right direction. Lots of maps , and information relating to the local area, and even Melbourne and further afield.
Fantastic place and a must for all visitors to Ballarat. Loads of info pamphlets available and plenty of souvenirs for the collectors of caps, stubby holders, pens, maps etc. The staff were very helpful. With Eureka Stockade closed for renovations, we managed to at least get some items to say "we saw it but missed it".
We went into the Ballarat Visitor Information Centre looking for information regarding the bus destinations, routes and timetables and we found the staff there to be most helpful. The chap concerned procured a tourist map of the city and asking us where we were intending to go, indicated on the map where to catch this particular bus. Most helpful. While we were there we browsed around looking at the various souvenirs and items of interest pertaining to the local areas. This establishment had all the required knick knacks etc including caps, stubby holders, pens and a myriad of other keepsakes to remind you of the trip to Ballarat. It is very easy to spend heaps in this place. Well worth a look.
