banff is our go to for cheap drinks on a weeknight. so cosy on a cold night! love the lighting, it always feels like we are the only people there even when its packed. great salads too but the breakfast is a bit hit and miss.

A cosy interior, great on winter nights, or generous seating outside. The pizzas are affordable and delicious (try the calamari ring pizza), the drinks including coffee and wine list and more than satisfying and the service is quite pleasant

This is the best place to go in St Kilda if you want a great cheap pizza $4 on mon/tues nights. They serve house wine in jam jars but its good and cheap. The atmosphere is great inside when its a cold day and great tables outside ifyou are there on a nice day. You can easily sit here for hours having a drink and food and watch st kilda walk by - without spending a small fortune. Love banff.

Went on Saturday evening. Very BUSY, not enough seats. Pizzas are very tasty, but SMALL servings, which many people opt to order a second and third one after their first pizza. It is the size of a medium plate (the kind cake is served on), with a very thin crust (diet like) with minimal topping, but it is tasty. However, if you are going there to get full, prepare yourself to have to order two or three pizzas. Very busy small restaurant, and very loud. Not for those who want a relaxing evening out with their meal as you can't really hold a conversation there due to the noise level. Seems like many backpackers and visitors from abroad come here, due to its location. Overall, good pizzas, nice tasting but small tiny servings and loud atmosphere.

Like a movie uni hang out. Always full and steamy. Very affordable food and great wine that's served in latte glasses. Can get a good pizza here for under $10. Nice decor - cosy and warm atmosphere, random art and magazines lying around. Always full for a good reason.

I love the atmosphere here! It is so cozy and nice. The place is like you are in a log cabin in Canada. Oh and order the French toast, it is to die for. I didn't think to greatly off the pancakes though, the cream was a bit tart. Great coffee.

Great food at exceptional prices. One of the cheapest eats in Fitzroy Street and one of the best. Can't go past their $5.00 pizzas on Mon and Tues nights. My favourite is the potato one, followed closely by the pumpkin and pinenuts. Can't go past their dessert pizzas either - SO GOOD!!!!! Nice cosy atmosphere too!

Banff is great for a cheap fun dinner. Pizzas are around $9 and the wine list consists of clean skins for about $20. You order at the bar then try to find yourself a seat. The service is pretty minimal - you get your own water from a jug by the bar and you drink your wine from water glasses. Banff is always very lively on a Friday night when I've been.

Approximate cost: $9
