Ordering coffee at this joint ... 'no skim, no soy, no decaf'! I love the personality of this place and the people who run it. If you're going to order a coffee, just order an actually coffee. Haven't eaten here before but the atmosphere is great to sit in.

Love stopping by here for my takeaway coffee when I'm in Leichardt, would love to dine in for a change but the tables inside or outside on the pavement are always taken up. There are signs at the register displaying " Cash Only" and “no soy, light or skim milk”.. so it's pretty much full milk for everyone and cash only!

I do find the coffee's are quite strong and punchy and i always get them to add a spoon of sugar to sweeten a little, but that's my preference.

Decor is quite nineties really.. old wooden style tables, wicker chairs , saucers and old fashioned tea cups. Quite retro almost. So the decor isn't nothing to write home about the coffee is strong and bold. Am yet to try anything on the menu, perhaps next time if seating permits. Staff are friendly and looks like a great place to relax if you get the chance!

Amazing coffee place, love going back to this place for relaxing time out with family.i enjoy their all meals while chatting away with mates. Price wise they have very reasonable price, food is amazing good place to try out.

We always sit at the back because the restaurant has a courtyard at back that is partly covered, We ordered coffee and ice cream and of course their great meals. My favourite is the penne putanesca and ordered all the time and never had any disappointment.

If you feel the need to get your coffee 'your way' then this is not the place for you. There is no soy or skim, so if you are lactose intolerant or on a diet, stay away. Forget the chai latte!!

So if you want a fat cap, or long black then head on in.

Love this place. One of my favorite places to go for ice cream. The coffee ice cream is my fave. Dun forget the coffee as well. Coffee n ice cream is a bad mix but not here. No for me. They also serve italian foods . The value is good and the portion is quite big. If u r around this area, please come n visit here. U wont be dissappointed.

I love this place. It's the only place I go when I visit family in Leichhardt. Great food and very, very generous portions. I've been going there for over 10 years - maybe once or twice a year - and every time I know i can expect some quality Italian with no fuss.

A great little place. No frills, good, hearty food, and fast service. The service is a little hostile, but they stick to their food, and they do it well. I won't be going back all that often - personally, I like more greens, and the signs saying 'NO' over items not available, as well as the 'no light, no skim, no soy, just milk' signs, irked me. Fine - it's cool to have your food, your way, and refuse to deviate...but would it kill you to say please or thank you? Or even 'We regret' or 'we hope you understand'?

In all other ways though, good food, and good fun - go check it out!

For 20 years I have regarded Bar Italia as the gold standard for a good coffee and still do. A double shot, and extra hot is the standard and that's just how I like it. I have never been disappointed. We often come here before going to the Palace cinema and the service is always quick and efficient. Usually we get the salami panini or sometimes just a hot, buttered crunchy bread roll to have with a coffee or hot chocolate. Always worth a visit.
