Very disappointed. We were turned away from this cafe today not because they did not have any available tables because they did. There were several empty tables there this morning. We were told they had staffing issues and were not taking any further customers. We went elsewhere and had a great breakfast.

We had sunday morning breakfast at this restaurant so to make use of the entertainment book voucher.

we ordered the big breakfast which was certainly not an exaggeration! very tasty and delicious though
2 thick slices of toast, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, baked beans (which were in a lovely tomato sauce but tasted under cooked to me), chorizo sausage.

gosh we struggled to it ......

coffees were good not sure of the brand

nice location by the water! my only complaint is that diners are allowed to smoke outside at the tables!

Lovely spot for a few drinks with mates. When the sun is shining it is simply stunning. Make sure you get a seat outside for a nice view. Simply gorgeous!

I chose Bear Brass as a good central meeting point for one of my rare visits to Melbourne, meeting with family and friends before going to a show at the Arts Centre. Loved the surroundings, the vibe and the menu, there was something for everyone. My Mushroom Risotto with Gorgonzola was exceptional and my mouth is watering at the memory. There were meat dishes, seafood dishes and vegetarian options, and everyone was happy with there choice. HOWEVER... the wait for the food was really unacceptable. Having placed our orders by 7pm, receiving them almost an hour later was a bit of a joke, especially as the place was not particularly full. Surprisingly, the longest orders to be received were the pizzas! I will return to Bear Brass, but next time I will place a time limit on our orders so as to ensure a timely response. Luckily the food WAS worth the wait.

While staying in Melbourne my family and I had breakfast here one morning. So much to choose from, I had the Bearbrass breakfast - tomatoes, bacon, eggs, mushrooms (just to mention a few) absolutely delicious, but to much for 1 person. My husband and kids were happy as they had extra. The menu was large and had a lot of variety - the problem was - which to choose. The lunch and Dinner menu also looked great - that's for when we visit Melbourne next time! The staff were friendly and we received our meals very quickly. Definitely recommend you try.

Bear brass is one of the few places on Southbank that isn't a tourist trap. The wait staff are pleasant even though they are usually working hard, the food is good and well priced for the location. Lovely place to be on a sunny day in Melbourne.

Bear Brass is one of my regular breakfast places. The atmosphere, staff and food are all great!!

The menu is varied and has many options, all of the food is fresh and full of flavour! The staff are always friendly and always have smiles on their faces.

Once of the best breakfast places in Southbank!

We've only ever had nibbles here but mostly come for pre-drinks before heading out dancing. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, everyone is chatting away and having a good time. We've always had a good time here although it can be difficult to get a spot as it gets busy.
